You have been warned for weeks. We will not warn you again to make you rich.

XLM is half the circulating supply and better than XRP in every way. It is way undervalued.

We dont need to hope for coinbase to be added because FairX exchange will become the juggernaut, run by XLM.

Literally if there are still people who arent in XLM at this point I don't know what to fucking say to them. Simply fucking retarded newfaggots who only want to buy XRP at ATH so that they can whine to the SEC when it crashes below 1.00 in a week.

XLM is a fucking great coin, with a great team, and literally any day now they are releasing FairX which will allow normie fags to buy with their iphone and debit card instantly and easily.

These are facts yet people are still not wanting to get in before this shit hits $1 per coin.

And here is the big one, which differentiates XLM from XRP.

Whereas there is no information that banks are using the actually XRP coin, but the ripple block chain, here you have a big exchange (powered by IBM) launching that is literally using XLM, not just its technology.

This should be the only coin you are all in on.

XLM is where I'm dumping my money as soon as it clears that pos Coinbase. Stellar has that millennial look that will make people eat it up. It's going for usability and the normie appeal. I don't see how it could fail, especially with FairX around the corner.

I've tried to get my friends into crypto and hey just get lost when they realize they have to buy BTC or ETH and transfer to new wallets to trade it. The only thing I don't like about the Stellar Network is that it's not really as decentralized as they preach.

They made a fancy new consensus algorithm that would allow better decentralization than Ripple's (only trusted nodes carry out the validations). They say any john doe can run a validation node but then say there's no reason to run a node if other nodes don't care about your node validation. Furthermore there's no incentive for running you own validation node since all transaction fees go back to the inflation pool. If there's no incentive, NO ONE aside from the companies using the stellar network will run validation nodes. That doesn't sound like true decentralization for me.

So when they want more they just throw in a huge sell wall that make people panic, drops the price a bit down to of look a huge buy wall... probably from the same whale who put in the sell wall...

Easy gains for whales and it just let's them accumulate even more.

They can then drop the wall and the price increases pretty fast when people see no resistance...

Giving out rewards for running validators incentivizes trying to take over as large part of the network as possible, which will lead to dirty tricks. It could work for XLM because you can't just add hardware to overtake the network, but still at the same time the fees aren't necessary either. If somebody wants to run a node to help others they can, if somebody wants to get rich, well there's the corporations that are doing that already. If you want to trust greedy parties use corporate nodes, if you want to trust altruistic parties go with community nodes.

This is a very noob question, but if I keep backups (like, integral copies of a wallet file) on separate drives and used the coins on of those copies, what keeps me from using the second wallet?

I know how blockchain cryptography works, basically each block is encrypted using the plaintext (or something) of the previous block. So it depends on some linear storytelling, would using those duplicate coins just fail since it's non-linear?

The blockchain is just a ledger. The only place encryption is used is with your private/public key pair -- the private address is your "key" that can be used to move coins around (by signing the transaction with your private key).

All your wallet is is your private key. It's a bad word for it, because your wallet doesn't really hold anything.

That wiki link you posted isn't what blockchain tech is. This is basically how it works:

A hash function (like SHA256 in the case of BTC) can be used to generate a unique, pseudorandom string of bits. It is unique in that it should be different for every input. It's pseudorandom in the sense that you can't guess it, but it's deterministic (the same inputs will always give you the same output). Read up on this a little but to better understand how this works.

Given an output of a hash function, you can't guess what input it took to create it. So if all I give you is a hash value, you have no way of determining what it took to create it (beyond brute force). This is actually how BTC mining works (and many other coins' POW).

So what a blockchain is, is a chain of blocks of data that have been fed through the hash function. Block 1 is hashed to generate a unique output, which is included in block 2, which is hashed and that value is included in block 3, etc etc. In this way, once you hit block 1451345123453, the hash value from the previous block can ONLY be created by starting with the original block 1. This is why you can't forge a new block and change past transactions -- the hashes will never match up.

You XLM idiots are definitely more intelligent than REQ brainlets and infinitely more respectable than XRP normies.

But you fell just short. Your quasi-decentralized design, retarded coin intermediary functionality, and all around less competent team will be your undoing.

Pro-tip: Your coin is literally pointless beyond the spam deterrence. You think there will be a lot of buy pressure when you can buy 1000 XLM and trade with that for 50 years? Relying on normie ignorance is not a long term strategy.

Why not just hop on the OMG train and enjoy the third great crypto mooning epoch?

Not sure what you mean by a block's "abstraction"..

Cryptography is used (in the very simple case of BTC) only when you sign a transaction (although, technically many hashing functions are considered cryptographic due to their one-way-ness).

A simple example of how cryptographic signatures works is this. Imagine you have what's called a key pair, a private and a public key, and the both are related mathematically. You can use the public key to encrypt things, but ONLY the person with the private key can decrypt it. Similarly, to 'sign' something, like say a PDF, I can generate a hash of the data in that file, then encrypt that hash with my private key. The only person in the world that's able to generate that encrypted hash is the person holding the private key. However, anyone with the public key can decrypt the signature and verify the hashes match.

Make sense?

Don't fall into the false mindset that you've missed out completely -- we're still in the infancy of the crypto world. Getting in now is a lot better than getting in when all of these coins are trading at $10-100.

your margins are way too low man, dont risk it. it works way better when you have a fat stack, and you can 'risk' a % of it. I mean, it's not that fucking hard, and if you're gaining enough you can even cover some losses along the way, but XLM is just such a no brainer hold

XLM is going to have solid moon rides. Whether adaptations happens is the question, but that's for any crypto.

Hypothetical question here for when fairx launches

Say youve been holding a coin for over a year to bennefit from long term instead of short term capital gains tax. You go to cash your coin out for fiat on fairx. Will it still be consider a long term hold for tax purposes since it converts to xlm on the backend? Or is this just a clever way by them to make it so you always pay short term tax?

I've tried it, it's very risky. What you think may be a local high and a time to sell may soon be a minimum and it may just keep going higher.

Desu, I don't know why there aren't scripts to automate the process. Watch the concavity, slope, and local highs and lows and conditionally buy and sell faster than any human could.
