>N...No its not a chink scam you silly gweilo, one of our employees won the contest too, even though any non scam chain with half a brain would understand conflict of interest and ban employees from playing.

Kek, what a ridiculous timeline we love in.

Unironcally, WTC was my first jackpot. I saw a post on Reddit about it. It never got any comments or upvotes. It mentioned that it had a Samsung executive onboard. I googled it and could only find a Chinese page about it, and the reddit post. It was only available on Binance, which was Chinese only and a literal who exchange back then. I had to translate to English to find the buy button.

I think I bought for 0.60c or so and sold it all at ~$7. I made a post about it on biz and I still like to think it was the cause of the initial run it had. It was a proper hype/alpha thread that generated a lot of replies. There was so much fud that they would be delisted from Binance because they were an ICO, which was forbidden by the Chinese gov.

Good times.

I used to be on 4chan daily since 2009. I remember very clear that there were people talking about Bitcoin and that we shouldnt waste our life on the board and just invest $100 now into BTC and then retire. I was a depressed piece of shit so I didn't listen. Suddenly it's 2017 and I hear a old classmate of mine became a multi millionaire because of Bitcoin

I tried to buy some in 2009 and gave up when I couldn't figure out how to setup a wallet. I remember reading an article about someone paying for a pizza with it and looked into it but the instructions were kinda vague and I said fuck it after 30mins of trying.
My only consolation is that the laptop I was using ended up getting stolen the next year, so even if I had bought some, I likely would've lost it.

>that pajeet anon who kept spamming about solving captchas to receive free "Raiblocks", was fudded to death only for the project to rebrand into Nano and becoming the reddit coin of the year 2018 and pulling a 1000X.
>that anon who livestreamed his suicide on discord after betting all his families funds on the Zcash namechange (down over 99%)

man 2017/18 was something else..

Sean's Outpost and the Satoshi Forest. It's a charity that lets homeless people camp somewhere safely while they get their lives together. If you don't know his story, Sean was a local newspaper journalist who was brutally murdered over Magic the Gathering cards and buried in a concrete drum.

It was one of the first charities that accepted crypto, but instead of hodling it they actually used the money to help people so the owner of the charity isn't a multi millionaire today (as far as I know). He did a run across America thing to get donations via Bitcoin and raise awareness. Recently he was arrested for cutting the locks off of porta-potties downtown.

I remember an old sketch video from the early 2010s where they interviewed people about how they actually use Bitcoin. They repeatedly cited "Donating to charities such as Sean's Outpost." and "uhh... Other things.". Been trying to find it again for years.

A lot of the early lore is lost I’m afraid. Before rugpulls, anon dev would open BTC exchanges and the get “hacked” or just shutdown without a word overnight. The FBI agent that was hinting Ross and had charges brought against him for stealing was involved in strong arming at least a few of these exchanges. Basically doxing the owner and threatening to arrest them if they didn’t pay him off. That’s why many went dark. There’s a wild story somewhere out there written by one of these anon devs that fled to Thailand to avoid capture. No idea where to find it now or whatever happened to him, but the details of the story lines and and seemed quite credible. Early Bitcoin was wild. Legit felt dangerous to own.

Bitcoin didn’t have a price in 2009, you are either larping or misremembering. In 2009, it was worthless and there were no exchanges. No price. You mined it or sent someone a few dollars via PayPal for tens of thousands of BTC.

lol, again… misremembering it. Bitcoin pizza exchange was 2010. 10k BTC for two pizzas. It was worthless at the time. Nobody was buying it… that’s why pizza seemed like a good deal.

People whined that this is too long to read in the past, I think this is the greatest thing /biz/ has ever produced. Even CuteFeet.finance pales in comparison. Just skip the intros and get to the waifus.
