Just happened last week
>work at FAANG company
>coworker is from China, has lived and worked in US for 8 years or so
>she has medical emergency, losing tons of blood due to uterus problem
>doctor says if she didn’t come in when she did, could have died
>has to do emergency surgery to stop the bleeding
>requires 6-8 weeks off work to recover
>she sends us an email telling us she will be out, and apologizes “for any inconvenience this has caused”

same exact thing happened to me too. not a tech support job, but working on cars. I was mad as hell. I got severed from the schedule and they claimed that i quit when i filled for unemployment. Im not tired though, i wide awake now. Experience only services you.

I literally got fired today because "they can't pay my salary" and I earn the least in the company. Fuck and I had gotten used to earning so well :(
