That etf like most bond etfs pays monthly. And it will pay whatever the current yield is for the etf. If rates go down it will lower.

When you buy a bond you get income in two ways. First is the coupon aka divy yield. The second is the fact that the bond is going to par.
>"I sell you a 5% 1 year bond for $100. At the end of the year you get $5 in divy and your original $100 for $105
or
>"I sell you a 1 year $100 bond for $95. You get no divys but at the end of the year you are given $100 while only paying $95 so the new total is $105"
It didn't take investors long to realize they could completely ignore divy taxes by just buying and selling zero coupon bonds. Strip bonds are very famous, EDV being probably the biggest etf that explicitly buys them.

Now the IRS is the ((IRS)) so what they do is basically charge you in taxes for whatever moves you got closer to par.

So if you buy a $100 ten year bond for $50, your end total will be $150 ($5 each year on average) so the IRS will charge you taxes based on that $5. The shitty thing is that you don't get ANY of that income until the ten years are done. But you still have to pay all this income tax on income you didn't get for 10 fucking years.

It's massively retarded. Bond ETFs get around this by just selling bond assets or laddering them in a way that they have cash to just give you whatever the phantom income was as a divy, so you have some actual income to pay the tax.

What is a KIID?
In an attempt to create a structure for the provision of easily understandable and engaging fund disclosures, Directive 2009/65/EC on UCITS IV and Commission Regulation 583/2010 has replaced the simplified prospectus with the Key Investor Information Document (KIID).

The simplified prospectus was often simply just a “copy/paste” of the full prospectus, with poor design, full of technical terms and lengthy. Due to lack of direction and guidance, the simplified prospectus became an administrative burden with material variations across member states with no real investor benefit.

The main objectives of the KIID remain the same as for the simplified prospectus – provide retail investors with:

better disclosure,
easier to understand content and,
to facilitate comparisons between products.
The key differentiating factor is that under UCITS IV, the European Commission was obliged to adopt implementing measures clearly defining the KIID’s scope and nature.

When considering the KIID, there are three key aspects – the pre-defined content, the production of the KIID and its dissemination to internal and external parties:

The biggest thing is the unemployment report. If it comes in at an increase of 0.3% or greater it's fucking over we are in a recession

If it goes in at over 0.3% increase, we officially consolidate above the 12 month moving average which historically has signaled every single recession

If get that + early fed rate cut then fucking get out of the market it's going to be a bloodbath

Intel's problem is they were riding on easy profits for years and have been floundering against AMD for the last several, having lost their dominance. On top of that they are several years behind TSMC in process (by this year late they should only be one year behind if they're lucky though) and their new CEO is too ambitious, trying to run a foundry service and compete in gpu's on top of everything else. Morale is not very high at Intel corp from what I've heard from some friends of mine who work there. There are more people who dislike the direction the company is heading than who like it.

Intel's only ray of light is the fact that TSMC have failed badly with their new N3 node. If they fumble one more time they could even catch up if they don't fumble themselves again like they did 10nm for years.

Chip manufacturing is basically an atlas stone lifting competition where each smaller node is a slightly bigger stone and also they've all been coated in vaseline. If you want to invest in tech bet on cool new fads/scams like crypto and ai that are hedged by fabless chipmakers like nvidia who have significantly better profit to r&d/operating cost ratios.
>they're overvalued already though
maybe, who knows? All it takes is for some brilliant people to find yet another use for machine learning or a poptech article about how countries are going to enter an arms race to make military AI to both attack each other and defend against cyber attacks or something and it keeps pumping to Jupiter.

The inflation is a big reason for the rally in the stock market. Gigaprint money and you gigapump the markets. The markets have to go up to reflect the loss of the value of the dollar.
Still, Micron is absolute BS. I can understand NVDA, MSFT, Apple, Broadcom, and so on at these levels but Micron? Fuckin hell. Bad guidance should be punished but nope. Not with big tech apparently. Apparently, revenue and the bottom line doesn't matter anymore. Just what in hell?

I'm not convinced Intel can claw it back again. Their company culture has degraded significantly. Back in 2006 even the lowliest engineer had direct lines of communications with the highest director or CEO, everyone had the freedom to voice their concerns over design decisions and direction, and have them be taken seriously too. Now it's as much of a shithole as any other corporation. People keep their heads down, stupid decisions constantly rain from higher up, to be through by people on the ground who know they're stupid decisions but keep their mouths shut and just do their job.

AMD has never been ahead for this long before. In fact, I think the total number of years they've been ahead as of 2024 now exceeds the number of years Intel has been ahead of them. Arrow Lake is not going to scare AMD. Nor is Arrow Lake Refresh. Intel has nothing on the roadmap for cpu's to compete with Ryzen or VCache until at least 2026, realistically 2027 or 2028.
