Depends on your living expenses. If you take home 30k a yr and live without rent somewhere cheap like WV and don't bother with kids or women you could potentially still be dropping half or more of your income a year into voo and in 30 years have 3-4 million to ride out the last sad lonely infirm years of your life paying for medical debt and care your non existent kids would have helped you with instead if you invested in BABY.

The maximum return for a dollar cost average strategy is, I believe, 2x leverage on the S&P. It's S&P or Nasdaq, I don't recall which performed better over how many years. With 2x leverage there are going to be periods where you eat a nasty looking drawdown. The critical thing with that is not to change anything. Keep buying on schedule, NEVER panic sell.
The point of more active trading is to gamble greater risk for potentially more short term gains. I swing trade because I don't normally lose to the S&P over the course of a year by much. I might not beat it every time but I won't be far off. Anyway this all depends on your patience, how much you want to watch the lines move, and how much you want to yolo. Successful yoloers will tell you gambling is best. They believe this because they succeeded. I will not say they're wrong.

For personal reasons I'm probably going to be actively working til at least my early 40s, though I'd love to be able to just turn into a gigaNEET after that. I think the difference between me and you is that I'm not aiming to become rich while I'm still very young while you're likely looking to do just that.
