The difference is oil is collected as its primary resource value. a lot of PMs like silver are byproducts of the actual valuable PM like lead or Pt. So they just dumb the silver on any buyer to focus on the actual profit of their main resource. dumping the by product prevents them from having to deal with storing it or transporting it with different requirements. all costs.
