I'm down bigly in IMPP but they converted their class C shares and did a buyback and seem to be on an upswing. If you get in now your average would be much lower than mine, but I wouldn't advise it. The owner uses it as a dillutive ATM and plays shell games with his assets selling ships between his companies and making profit off the transactions which never go back into the share price.
As a special dividend we got shares of his new dry shipping company, CISS, issued at $20. By the time they made it to my broker almost a week later the price of them was down to $1. You can bet your ass I'll have to pay taxes on the shares as they were issued at $20/per though.
And just to reiterate the lack of ethics and morals he sold an oil tanker from IMPP to CISS despite CISS was intended to be a dry shipping company.
So, I dunno. No one recommends IMPP as a hold, swing trade it if you do decide to get in.

1) don't feel you need to keep up a certain lifestyle, if this is necessary to keep her, re-evaluate whether you really enjoy being with her and whether she truly loves you for you as opposed to the monetary element

2) maybe don't keep so much in savings, unless you have an upcoming major expense you should keep savings at maybe 10-15k and invest the rest. Broadly diversified index funds like VSP that track the S&P500

I don't think any of these three above are amazing buying opportunities right now, but they're the type to watch. The best time to buy an arb is when it looks like some fund has just been blown out of their position on some bullshit news. When the spread suddenly opens wider, that's when you should start thinking to add.

I own HF. It looks expensive at first glance but it's not for a giga growth company. Thing is if you dig into their financials 60% of their revenue goes into SGA expenses. Which aren't really expenses they're more like investments into marketing and growing the customer base.

Remember that most these companies don’t need or even want your money in today’s world. They just want to get you into debt as quick and early as possible.
