For me, it's boiled steak. Boiled steak is genuinely the best way to eat steak. Much more chew and you actually feel like you've eaten something after. Also healthier and minimal mess because it's literally just water in a pot. No oil or grease. Fatty cuts like ribeye are best to boil - I've had less success with cheap steak. Pic related was OK but really needed some 'chup

>No one cares if you SELL fake coins on eBay
They definitely care, but law enforcement has been overwhelmed by the sheer volume of fakes coming from outside their jurisdiction and from untraceable accounts.

Since the cops can't do anything about it, the platforms and banks have ended up holding the bag for those fake coins. And they're doing something. Credit card companies are perfectly capable of either not paying a scammer, or clawing back payments from scammers. So are the platforms. This has resulted in the scammers very slowly bringing their listings into compliance with US law. Coins that were previously sold as real are now usually listed as fakes or reproductions somewhere in the text of the listing. Eventually they'll come into full compliance with US law, and each fake will come counterstamped with the word "COPY" on the face as law requires.

It's a mistake to think nobody cares. If a person is a US resident selling fake coins they're probably going to end up in jail or on probation for it. People outside the US are just more difficult for US cops to go after. So usually the banks and platforms zap those guys. Generally by not paying them or taking money out of their linked accounts.

I call them scammers, but the chinks making and selling fake coins don't understand the difference between a scam and regular business. They're not scammers, they honestly don't realize that people buying those coins think they're real, or they simply don't care.

This is evidenced by their willingness to label their fake coins as fake when forced to. They naively think americans just love fake coins and will continue to buy them by the millions even when they know they're fake. It's cute really. Chinks have no idea what fraud is, and think there's a real and enormous demand for counterfeit goods in the US.

No. Paying extra for .9999 silver over .999 is pure retardation. Even with millions worth of silver, the dollar difference is so minor it's not worth noting. Paying extra for .9999 is about as retarded as paying extra for silver coined currency when it's silver content value is the same as bullion. Just go for the cheapest closest-to-spot silver that you can find.

I used to use a pregnant liquor of cyanide, but ever since the tragic accident with the neighbor's dog I stopped doing that. I keep some mercury amalgam slurry around as well, but I can't recommend that for most stackers. You have to be pretty careful around that stuff.

this is the location at the top of the mold where the metals was poured in and air vented out. The excess metal from the pour and vent tubes was cut off with a hacksaw and filed down. Reeding appears to be missing in this quadrant, the same quad with odd surface and rim damage. It has all the hallmarks of a poorly doctored cast.

Yep, each bit of damage by itself isn't anything to be suspicious of.

but all of them together in one spot makes me really suspicious. What are the odds you're going to get a die crack running perfectly horizontally right next to some voids or bubbles in the metal, and unrelated cud (chip) in the denticles, and reeding destroyed on the rim?

all of those things can happen naturally, but all of them happening by chance in the same spot is beyond unlikely. I've cast a few fake coins, to me that looks exactly like the sloppy fakes I used to make out of solder. Right down to the cut marks and missing reeds at the pour spout.

The damage everyone is referring to is very specifc and clearly not natural circulation wear. Maybe you're just trolling the thread with this coin though, in which case congrats on all the (you)s. If he's trolling I liked it. The pictures could've been better but they were good enough I think.

reminds me of another problem with the coin- all the damage is located at the top of the coin. Fakers are weird, we automatically rotate the coin in the mold so the pour and vent holes are at the exact top. Like OCD need to align the coin "properly" in the mold. Our fakes would be a lot more convincing if we didn't do that. Maybe rotate it so the pour damage was in some random part of the coin instead of the exact top of the portrait.
I'm learning, we're going to make better fake coins going forward.

>> No.57069302

>>57069225
although again this doesn't necessarily mean the coin is fake.

but what are the odds we'd have:
>perfectly horizontal die crack
>unrelated denticle cud
>bubbles or porosity in the planchet
>missing reeds on the edge
>edge flattened in angular pattern
all in the same place at the exact top of the portrait?

That's 2 die defects, 2 planchet defects, and one major rim damage, all mysteriously located at the same place, coincidentally at the top of the portrait. What are the odds that all this damage happened in one specific place and no others?

easily explained if the coin is poured however. But even then it's still possible we have a counterfeit from 1789 or so. Not super likely, but possible.

the fun part is if anon can prove that it's a counterfeit slug that circulated in the 1700's it would actually be worth more than the real coin.

Insurance companies are about to rugpull the entire housing market.

On Jan 1 2024, major home insurance carriers are going to be pulling out of 35+ states, underwriting criteria getting WAAAAY more strict and unless you’re preferred you’re not getting coverage. Standard and non standard people are screwed.

A person cannot buy a home without insurance. Hedge funds have no such restrictions. Probably not a coincidence.

California will be the hardest hit by the insurance changes.

My assessment based on the pretty obvious flaws is that it's a vintage cast replica made for use in jewelry, while pretty good by jewelry standards I don't think it was made to fool numismatists. The damage at the top gives me cut-off suspension loop kinda feels btw. Things like cast replica atocha shipwreck cobs made to be mounted and worn are pretty common and I've seen other cast silver and gold jewelry coins made of good metal so I think there's a fair chance anon's piece is still high karat gold. the very best way to cast a coin is make a plastic or silicone negative removed via slit. Then create a wax positive from that flex cast. Finally make a rigid plaster neg of the wax positive with a slit entry and vent perpendicular to the reeding.

Then lost wax in a heated cast and file the reeds before tumbling the coin to simulate wear.

but even this will be obvious under a microscope. The file or saw marks on the reeds will give it away every time, if the tumbler marks aren't proof enough.

Yeah I have, you're right about the wear unless they weren't worn much. Some gifts a man buys for the wife don't get much use or appreciation, and a replica coin pendant displaying an ugly old Spaniard was probably up there. That coin is not characteristic of modern mass-produced Chinese fakes, but definitely is the sort of thing that jewelers could have been commissioned to make or even offered as a regular product. I'm thinking it's 30-50 years old, and based on my broad observational experience it's quite common for something like that to sit unused for the lifetime of the first owner then get cut down/removed from jewelry by whoever bought it at an estate sale or whatever.

>I'm just not buyin the whole master craftsman forgery who made it for a pendant that isn't there

No one who has recognized it as a fake thinks it's a forger's masterpiece, I've seen plenty of similar replica jewelry coins that were made more skillfully.

It clearly saw *some* use and certainly isn't as perfect as it was when manufactured, the scratch in picrel is a good example.

It wouldn't be the older design though. Compare the Aputannia to the Crusader, or even the WAGMI coin, and you will see that the Crusader is vastly more detailed. Apu's shirt on the Aputannia doesn't even have wrinkles or detailing on it, its just a solid smooth spot.

What I'm talking about is a NEW and IMPROVED Aputannia thats takes advantage of all the detailing tricks Mint Anon has learned about since then. The original Aputannia will always be unique and distinct, but we can do so much better now.

There was talk a while ago about potentially making Aputannia a yearly thing because it was the flagship coin of /pmg/ and I still support that idea.

You realize cartels use mostly dollars to begin with, right? Their major market is Americans who pay with dollars. Why would they buy silver with dollars only to sell it for dollars? Even if they were not already using dollars, why would they buy silver with pesos to then sell for dollars when they could just exchange pesos directly for dollars?

Do you have any evidence for this claim of yours?

>> No.57078192

>>57078162
the first problem with being a criminal is you can't keep your money in the bank because governments will take it.
The second problem is you can't spend your money because governments will take whatever you spend it on.

to get around this, you buy products or services having a semi-legitimate provenance, when you then sell again to give the appearance that the money was gained in legal business rather than crime.

this is called money laundering. There's lots of goods and services you could buy and re-sell, but if you're laundering billions of dollars you need something expensive, liquid, widely available and accepted, and difficult to trace.

precious metals have long been used to avoid government scrutiny because they fit these requirements nicely. Lots of other things can be used instead, but silver certainly would work.

>Do you have any evidence for this claim of yours?
of course not, have you seen what cartels do to people that evidence of their crimes? This is just something various mexican stackers on /pmg/ have mentioned over the years, and it sounds plausible enough.

>How is buying and selling billions of dollars worth of silver NOT a gigantic red flag of illegal business?
It certainly would be unless you had hundreds or perhaps thousands of people making relatively small sales. Something for which cartels are already set up to do.
Or if you happened to own silver mines.
>Money laundering requires an actual business front, not just an exchange of assets.
either can work, individual sales of assets below a certain dollar amount are easy enough to prove, and there's not a lot of questions asked about where the metal came from.

>> No.57078274

>>57078204
Now if you actually own a silver mine, then exchanging silver for dollars would be okay. Maybe. And you could, in theory, melt libertads and cast them into bars to make it look like it came from your mine. But you still need to BUY those billions of dollars worth of libertads somewhere without raising suspicion. I guess you could hire ten thousand randos to do it for you.

I'm still dubious.

>> No.57078278

>>57078274
Like I said, I don't know if it's true. It's just what one or mexicans have told us over the years and it seems plausible enough.

it would certainly explain mexico being the largest silver producer in the world and still not having enough silver. Mine production would be inflated by buying up their own product and then pretending it came from the mines. But product would always be in short supply because they keep buying it every time it goes out for sale.

>> No.57078291

>>57078258
Even if billions of dollars worth of libertads were being snapped up by the cartels and then resold, those libertads would still be on the market so that wouldn't explain the shortage.

>> No.57078302

>>57078291
unless they were melting them and tossing them in with the mill run. But more likely they're just buying up most of the silver directly from the mine, mill, or refinery and then passing it off as newly mined product. Which would leave far less silver available to the government to mint, at least locally.

the other thing we were told though is they have straw buyers snapping up libertads at banks, and who knows what happens to those coins? In my limited experience in mexico, most people don't have money to stack silver, and probably wouldn't even if they could. So those libertads are disappearing somewhere and it's probably not into the pockets of the mexican people.

>> No.57078330

>>57078291
another more amusing possibility is that libertads are being used as black market currency in mexico, trading for drugs, protection, guns, payroll for gangs, bribes to cops, whatever. In that case it would be the average mexican buying up all those coins, and in fact most mexicans would have a stack of them.

this would be a funny thing because it's /pmg/s wet dream to have silver used as money. And it's possible that's what's happening. Though again I have no evidence of that.

I've never heard anything like this in Mexico. Idk much about the mining there except that the military guards some of the the mines, and the military is considered the uncorrupted branch of government, so it seems unlikely. Some cartels have overtaken legit industries though. The avacado farming was a recent one until some locals banded together and fought back. I assume it worked because avocados in the US have been cheap again for the past year or so.

The idea that cartels would need complicated schemes to launder money in Mexico doesn't make much sense though. They don't need to worry about audits there lol. From what I understand, they simply launder their USD, in the US, through various shell and paper companies, like many organizations do. Mexico is generally ruled behind the scenes by whichever cartel and it's allies have power at the moment. Citizens will complain that x or y was better when this president and that cartel was running things lol. It's like an open secret.

My opinion is very simply that there's a shortage. The specific reasons, idk, but I'll guess US interests are buying more than usual seeing as: our government recently handed out billions in new defense contracts. We burned up billions in stored weapons that use silver. We mandated new electric vehicle production. Retail silver demand has been up since the pandemic.

Occam's razor says Mexico just sold more to the highest bidders. Neither wants this known because it may cause a panic and drive prices up.

Aw sweet merry Christmas everyone. Crusaders came in and I’m hoping my delayed presents from family might be silver!

Wishing everyone a beautiful end of the year. May your gains continue to grow and may crypto cucks continue to seethe.
