Imagine telling the average normie you made 100k, 200k, 500k, 1 million dollars or more from buying fake internet cryptocurrency tokens. Could their brains even comprehend it?

I explained to my coworker that an $1800 purchase would have resulted in $1.3 million in profit had I not sold at the bottom to swap for a different coin that turned out to be a scam (bsv). They basically said "so you bet on the wrong number at the roulette table." I reiterated to them that any other bet would have resulted in several hundred thousand at least but they just see it all as gambling. I don't think normies will ever buy altcoins and when they do it will probably be the top.

>yeah they comprehend it as luck, which it is
luck is inevitably a part of the final outcome, but there's nothing lucky about buying low and selling high when (almost) everything is low then everything is high, like clockwork, every 4 years. You're more likely to walk away with 10x+ than nothing if you bought something that wasn't a complete and blatant scam.

>> No.57073120

I am so far behind on the crypto investing... I can tell how or where to jump in. I think BTC is already jumped up so much I'd have better luck on shitcoins. But, I'm not educated enough on the technicals to know when I'm being lied to and sold ... Or when something is a legitimate good idea.

Anyone have any good YouTube channels they recommend for a starting crypto investor that wants to understand more?

It's all a scam more or less. All of it. Do not fall for le tech memes. Fundamentals do not matter. And for starting out, your best bet is to pick 3 coins and slice up your capital between them. If you want to play it safe stay in the top 100.

3 things matter. Sentiment, price, supply. Avoid buying tokens with constant and hard supply dilution. Price action at this stage of the cycle should be broadly positive (2x or more off the bottom), don't buy shit that's still hovering near lows. If a coin hasn't shown any sign of life on these rallies out of the bear, it's dead and should be avoided. And the sentiment for whatever narrative the coin markets toward should be positive. If you can check these three boxes on a coin, it's got a decent chance of going into self fulfilling prophecy mode and landing you a 10x or better.

Best narratives IMO are AI, "real yield" defi tokens and memes. L1/L2s not a bad bet, safer but less reward. Pick what sounds best based on whether you think someone else will think "this is the future" or whatever. Remember, fundamentals don't matter: it's all about the story.

>There is a disconnect when it comes to managing risk for normies
This x infinity. Risk management is the key to everything and all serious investors should understand this. The goal is to maximize your expected return which is accomplished by allocating capital up and down the risk curve. In the simplest terms, buy BTC because it's a sure thing, and shitcoins because the possibility of a 1000x despite the low probability greatly increases your potential gains. Combine this with the obvious seasonality of the markets and you win. However I'm not surprised normies don't get this because it requires understanding probability, which also most autists here don't understand either.

Cool story, bro but normies still love coinbase, robinhood and crypto dot com because they are reputable exchanges. Most shitcoiners who ACTUALLY make it lol who want to cash out will eventually have to use a reputable exchange to convert to a normie token THEN withdrawal because most banks won't touch your thousands you made overnight.
