Finally landed a work-from-home job, should I move to the lowest cost-of-living place possible?

Thinking of either moving out to a rural town (my family lives in one near a military base) or setting up a VPN and moving out to Buenos Aires. The extra savings I'm dumping straight to mid-low cap crypto

Please tell me it’s some cool rags to riches story and you’re not just some coding dork faggot please I need inspiration to do this I feel like kms in America I need to get out I can’t fucking stand this shit I hate it

No because if you get fired you’re stuck in the boonies. Do you really want your employer to have that much power over you?

I can't code, just IT support for the company's saas tools. I also kind of hate America, so I'm thinking either hoard as much money live somewhere simple and cheap or go somewhere same timezone but live it up low cost like Argentina for 6 months of the year

well, option a, I can just move back in with my family until I get another remote job. I also have a couple years worth of living expenses saved up just in the bank

Have a similar situation. Going to the Dominican Republic to see if I can rent an AirBnB and work. Just wondering how my company would chimp if I logged on from the Caribbean.

If you mean within Buenos Aires, there's a subway and buses that work fine and uber is cheap. If you want to go to other cities in Argentina I'd just fly since it's so far and the government subsidizes the airline prices.

Leaving the states is risky, especially right now. If your IT finds out and you didn't notify anyone you could lose your job and your shirt in a foreign country. I'd move to LCOL in the US and then maybe only leave the country once I was more secure in my position and they were willing to let me do it.

how many years staying somewhere would you feel secure in the position? I found a VPN service that seems it would mask my location well enough
