It's not a universal yes/no question. Some people want to have changes in scenery and some people want to just stay in their rooms all day. Both are perfectly fine. I used to take at least one big trip a year, but with how ludicrously expensive everything is now it isn't economically worth it.
As to why it "appears" women do most of the planning it is because they throw those fake fits whenever you suggest something. It isn't worth trying to reason with these people that aren't capable of making up their minds. I've had so many cases like this it just isn't worth the effort.

National parks are good. Pristine air and very clean. Best of all minorities are filtered by them because the rangers actively crack down on bad behavior. Assateague National Sea Shore was pretty cool. There's wild horses that wander around the beach and parking lots.

i was born in paris and i've lived in france for more than 30 years, much of it in the paris region
i have seen maybe 10% of what paris has to offer. a generous estimate. despite me making an effort to go out for that stuff
you can live a whole life without even having "lived" a single city in full. that's even if we assume it's frozen in time. pragmatically, there's all kinds of ephemerous trends and events you will miss out. even normal day-to-days have enough depth on their own and you physically cannot be multiple spots at once
i like moving to different locations for a while. but never got the point of rootless traveling. why consoom the world instead of taking the time to appreciate it

i went to europe for a month solo and had the best time of my life.
did whatever i wanted. girls would invite me to tagalong on some planned excursion, so i ended up doing all the touristy shit. I got a deal where i worked a bit at the hostel for cheap rate. €27 a week. I am still a cheap man after all.

I do all this too. Every week I scout a new restaurant to try out and I'll go to whatever major events nearby I find interesting. If I travel it's usually to see a concert or ufc fight etc

I've literally met a single woman they paid more than 20% of any given trip. It's always either a completely free ride given to her by her father or sugar daddy, or she's whoring herself around "couch surfing" from place to place while all the simps by her food and shit.

That is actually been one of the biggest defining issues in my past relationships because women have no real concept of how much vacations actually cost and get mad when you can't accommodate every single demand they have.
