I was told ether was a smart choice, so why is this fucking coin stuck doing nothing while shitcoins like avax and sol are pumping so fucking much?

I'm ripping my hair out when i see stupid shit like Bonk and other retarded shitcoins do 100x more than my "bluechip" should be doing...where did i go wrong? Is Ether still a good pick for this cycle?

>> No.57009097

Eth is dead. ICP, AVAX, and SOL are where it's at from here on out.

why are people going to pay $10 in fees minimum when they could be paying less than a dollar on every other chain? lmao eth-tards don't get it. And now you can directly buy the L2 tokens, so you don't even need to ever buy eth in some cases.

There are too many well organized threads on this board shilling all this shit that is "pumping" but it's probably all going to dump on you while in ether the bullrun is coming and the rest will get left behind

It does, especially when you see CT universally shitting it on it right now, calling it obese, etc.

You pay a premium on ETH because that's where most of the capital is and the dapps/projects are. Fee problem is getting fixed also.

ETH becomes "boring dead piece of shit" in the mind of the majority right at the start of every bull run, then somewhere in the middle everyone is back into thinking how ETH is ultrasound best money and technology on the planet

>> No.57009424

I do like eth and think it's a solid coin but I would not hold it and don't really see a place for it in anyone's portfolio. If you're looking for a solid blue chip just hold BTC. There's no reason to hold eth over BTC. If you want defi and higher risk bust still relatively safe gains go for one of the up and comers. I personally chose ICP as the winner next run but I think you can't really go wrong with any of the other options. The past run it was worth holding since all the quick 2-3x in a week pumps were on uniswap but now there is enough volume on some of these other chains to make those gambles without paying gas and having to hold ETH.

I probably spent 15k in gas fees last run on uniswap alone.

They plan to scale using L2's you can read about it on their website. High gas fees just mean that ETH is getting way more popular so it can be viewed as a positive thing from a certain perspective.

That's just people reinvesting returns from BTC pumping in a bull run. The capital flows from BTC to alts. People like to rebalance their portfolios.

Are other L1 blockchains just cheaper to use because they're less popular than ETH? Or can they actually scale better?

No, it's a feature. Ethereum is supported by the feds and the banks and wall st precisely because of it's high fees and it's proclivity for raping plebs to line the pockets of it's controlling corporation, Consensys. Any EVM chain that approaches Eth's scale will still be under the same masters.

Solana, Matic, etc have high speed and low cost transactions because they set block frequency and size very high. This can and does cause desyncs between validators (not all validators can keep up with the chain) and excludes most people from running a full node because they don't have the newest hardware or fastest connection speed.

Ethereum purposefully set these parameters low so more people can run a full node and consensus can be achieved with more participants(to incentivize decentralization).

This results in comparatively lower speed and higher fees (due to the lower transaction throughput).

It's primarily a trade-off between node accessibility and performance.

>> No.57010203

Simply put, ETH fees are high due to the demand for block space. This is why we advocate for rollup solutions which bundle up/compress transactions and send as a single transaction to an L1.

>> No.57010222

>>57010102
I see, so these other L1's just sacrifice decentralization for faster and cheaper transactions. Are you bullish on ETH bro?

I'm bullish long term, but if somehow ethereum becomes utterly censored (unlikely when people stop using MEV) and truly centralized to the degree of something like BNB, then I will consider that to be a failure. We’ve already seen technologically “superior” smart contract platforms rise and fall while ethereum stays atop the mountain due to developer interest and first mover advantage. I came into crypto thinking I was too late for BTC in 2017 and i just don't want to make the same mistake with ether.

you and every other reddit normie who got into shithereum around then, who started babbling about dapps and feigning interest in the tech, because you never realized blockchain is only good for doing money and you could never grasp the economic and social side of it. It's a wonder that people who never understood bitcoin to begin with, thought they were going to bring something great to the world other than a nihilistic shitcoin scamsino which only repulses and confuses the wider public

Neither of those are shitcoins. They provide the same service as Eth with minor improvements.
>I'm ripping my hair out when i see stupid shit like Bonk and other retarded shitcoins do 100x more than my "bluechip" should be doing...where did i go wrong? Is Ether still a good pick for this cycle?
Ether is stable, which is its own major upside to the coin. There's nothing wrong with a coin whose value changes little or not at all over time, it gives people a safe harbor to put their money into.
