I don't really think there has been any speeding up. There's still absolutely zero real use, it's not 2020 and being disappointed anymore, it's about to be 2024.

In a sense that's not just a chainlink problem, it's all of crypto. No industry seriously cares about moving their well tested systems onto cumchain and paying 2058 cumbubbles to confirm a sale. However it still stands that smartcontract have been just as shitty and exploitative as the other projects, wildly bloating their company and salaries with token dumps whilst knowing they weren't needed by any industry and that would remain the case for another decade.
