When bankers/loan lenders ask what my annual income and job is, does it matter? Can I just say things like "self employed" and "projected to be 40k" and just get the money? I don't even wanna wagie as a cover and the only thing that matters is paying the monthly payment anyway.

They need collateral or an assurance that you'll pay them back.
If you don't want to share your income share your stock portfolio valuation.

Depends on the bank but yeah sure gold, stocks and real estate will probably be accepted as collateral

This. Sharing stock portfolio works fine. I didn't have a job but needed an apartment, so all I did for proof of income was show them my portfolio, and it worked fine.

So for stock as collateral (I guess real estate as well, not that I have any), lenders look at the overall total value and see that as collateral? They don't take into consideration gains/losses over the years, but would probably use dividends as revenue?
