I moved in with some new roommates I met off craigslist and they have a cat and a dog. Something about them really makes me angry and I get a rush off of abusing them. Think of debt this way.

If you have 10k of debt at 12% interest, paying off that debt is the same as getting a guaranteed 12% return on a 10k investment.

Or you could take advantage of a credit card with a promotional 0% interest for 18 months and free balance transfers. That way you have a year and a half before your "margin call" hits and you have to start paying interest. This way you can pay off the debt interest free without having to liquidate assets in order to do so, because you have an 18 month time leverage.

Be smart with debt, it's okay to leverage it but you have to do it in a way where interest doesn't eat all of your gains.
