By spending exorbitant amounts of money on other things first, or saving their points for a long ass time. The only rewards worth a fuck are cashback. Everything else is a luxury or ploy to get you spend more money.

its a bit of a hassle for not much reward.
I do know a couple that used a chase sapphire for 5 years and paid for every single thing in there lives with it and took a 2 week vacation in europe on rewards(nice hotels and first class airfare), so it can work...
