Lol they had like 2 years to just move your funds to another address. Sanctioning addresses is so fucking stupid.

so if a hacker or terrorist with a large tether address just airdrops to a bunch of random addresses how would they handle a situation like that?

They don't, they sanction an single address because they have no fucking clue how blockchain works. If they're address get sanctioned, literally just move your coins to another address before tether freezes it.

How does this cope still exist in current year? Tether is a token for christ sake. They are controlled by a single entity.

No shit. No actual sanctioned person holds dirty money in tether. That's retarded. All the sanctioned addresses are mixers or services, so the money frozen is basically a bunch of little guys, were not talking Russian oligarchs or north korean here, we're talking about the Venuzualan with 0.50 cents in tether who was trying to buy food to feed his family and the payment service got frozen by the US gov. Or people who used tornado but for some reason kept it in tether for 2 years after they got sanctioned.

If you are actually a sanctioned person with crypto you just hold actual crypto and don't give a fuck.

Hard to say how much any of these groups or individuals hold actual tether or convert immediate or a mix thereof.

Really the only thing you could discern is there is a ton of dirty tether that will be frozen legitimately or otherwise. Could very well cause a liquidity crunch which could make the BTC (and others) extremely volatile in either direction.

There is a further chilling effect this could cause on people who want to use Tether legitimately.

Welcome to fiat, lol. Every 1:1 backed stablecoin is essentially at the mercy of the US banking system because even if you couldn't freeze the token you can just rug the back end reserves.

Why do Americans always think whole world revolves around them.

For example I use my own counties stable coin provided by non custodial exchange here.

https://nzdd.com/

If any Amerifats wanna put there money into kiwi bucks. Pretty sure despite having to comply with FMA here they don't have any mechimism to freeze funds etc like teether.

in the scenario where all the dirty tether gets airdropped to a bunch of legit addresses where they are once again moved around by those legit owners what is the token authority's solution for that? they cant do shit about it

Depends if you consider backed stablecoins like DAI "algorithmic," because DAI if it didn't use centralized stablecoins as collateral would be a really good alternative.

You got caught being retarded, cope harder. New Zealand Dollar is perfectly stable trusted currency so why the fuck would you even fuck around with teether if you really want to park your money in USD anyway use something like DIA.

teeth is the biggest glowie scam out I have no idea on earth why anyone would use it.

For example tiny little NZD stable coin has been fully audited yet teether refuses to be and some how they allowed and people still use them.

USA is such a fucking backward place.
