Have you ever tried opening your own business?
How did it go?

I’m in the line of work where I could easily run a successful business, but I’m too autistic to pull it off. I hate managing people. Having to be married to your business is also a huge no. I’m better being a wage slave where I got to work, get paid, go home and fuck off.

I started a food truck with my brother thinking it was going to work because we both cook really good food. Turns out running everything food related is far more complicated and needs a lot more work and coordination than i imagined. I went back to daytrading on shitcoins using dexscreener. That line of work is not for me

>be me
>mech-e
>started LLC for moonlighting
>slowly built up on small jobs while waging
>got infrastructure (payroll, insurance, branding, templates, PE licensure etc) in place over a few years
>grew bigger every year
>finally huge opportunity comes along, take leap, still here after 15 months
>comfy, sometimes stressful, but definitely fastlane

Ask questions if you wish.

I’m a mech-e considering this. What type of projects do you do?

Specialty is energy (downstream oil and gas, piping, HEX, etc). But, I have found that a simple willingness to do the work brings in all sorts of oddball stuff. A lot of engineers are really just "catalog engineers," meaning they are too timid to actually run calcs and put their name on something novel. I got my start by just discreetly telling people that I'm open to moonlighting. It started slow; it was 3 years of part-time work before we got a big break. That 3 years gave me the credibility to take on the big break though. It would not have come to me if I were starting from 0.

Does a business have to do a certain amount of transactions to be called a business? Can I start a business that basically fails at its goals just to be able to call myself a business owner?

Does it count if you made a LLC pumped your drug money though it then used the sold called "profit" to secure business loans then let it go into liquidation after looting the loans.

I've tried to get business loans. It's really hard to do, and I have ~$7mm per year in revenue. The only people who can do that sort of thing are the well-connected who are engaging in money laundering through "loans."

Atleast 1, yes.
You just need to make sure the transactions and money are going towards the business and not a personal account.
This is why millionaires have 0 dollars in their pockets but still rich, they just deduct their houses and cars from the business not their own account.

Yes. Unfortunately it didn't go very well. Opening a niche store in a small town is a bad idea.

i started a print on demand t shirt/hoodie business in the automotive enthusiast niche about 3 months ago and have had about 65 orders so far with an average profit of about $30 per order which is roughly $2k profit. not enough to be my full time income but hopefully will get there soon. i created a facebook group which will naturally grow by 20-30 members a day once it reaches 1k members due to facebook algos. my best marketing spend was hiring a 150k follower car fan page (they literally just repost pics of cars) to post one of my designs on instagram, so i plan to reach out to more. the post cost me $50 and got me about 15 sales and 300 instagram followers.

also with the facebook group, people have to answer participation questions to comment int he group the first time and one of the 2 questions i ask is for their email so I now have about 3,000 members in the group and about 500 emails of highly targeted potential customers.

my next goal is to reach $2k a month in profit which is about 3x my current success and should be achievable in the next few months.

I have run facebook ads with my most successful campaign just breaking even, so i am trying to figure out how to improve my ROAS

A long time ago I had a lil dropshipping scam I advertised on here that sold crypto themed clothing items. You could pay a cash price or a lower crypto price. Then I just routed the order through redbubble. I basically got a bunch of coins for a discount then closed up when the market peaked.

Tried setting up a carpet cleaning/power sprayer business with a (former) friend. I was able to get the van, trailer, equipment , and a few contacts for a song from a guy whose son wanted to go to college instead of keeping up the family business. It was about 20 hours of work in a week, and I was already putting in 70+ hours trying to run a steakhouse, so I sold the business to the friend. He was going to pay me $100 a month for 3 years until I got my initial investment back. He wound up getting the bright idea of cooking meth in the van and wound up blinding himself almost 100% and burning the fuck out of his lungs. Now he gets disability, has a wife and three kids (more gibs) while I drive a truck over the road and pay a stripper to be nice to me every couple of months when I start to forget how to talk to people.
