that's fine, don't buy bitcoin if you're not convinced enough about the technology to hold through a bear market. everyone who lost money on it did so because they deep inside thought it's worthless, and everyone who made money on it did so because they are convinced it's revolutionary.

I was convinced it was revolutionary, until I realised it was systematically doomed. But most people buy first, learn second. And that way you're always going to be biased. Took me a long time to know enough about bitcoin that it cant survive.
