Missing data:
>Can afford a house near a major urban area

Literally the only reason why anyone works, saves money, participates in the economy, etc is to one day buy some fucking real estate near where they work or upgrade their real estate to somewhere safe and commutable with decent schools.

>Okay well aktually your wages have increased to match the increase in Col from the assraping increase in inflation but we'll count that as added value therefore your standard of living is much higher!

Stfuuuuuuuu none of that matters. No one is excited to take on credit card debt and auto loans to "have a higher standard of living" fucking booomers aaaaah. We just want reasonably affordable high quality real estate and if we can't have that then we just spend it on bullshit which makes it seem like the economy is wonderful.

>THEY'RE WRONG BECAUSE THEY JUST ARE, OKAY??? GDP WENT UP CHUD BIDENOMICS IS WORKING.
Did picrel mention a soft landing?
>GDI is an alternative way to measure economic output. GDP tallies all spending by businesses, consumers, overseas companies and the government by conducting a wide-ranging survey of retailers, car dealers, manufacturers and others. GDI estimates all income in the form of wages and salaries, corporate profits, interest and dividends and rents.
>Gross domestic income (GDI) rose at an annual rate of just 1.5% in the July-September period and has grown feebly over the past year even while GDP has advanced solidly. Over the past four quarters, GDP has increased 3% while GDI has fallen 0.16%, according to an analysis of Commerce data by Joseph LaVorgna, chief economist of SMBC Nikko Securities. That’s the biggest disparity between the two measures in recent memory. The total level of GDI is also 2.5% below that of GDP, the largest gap since 1993, says Barclays economist Jonathan Millar.
Fuck GDP worship. Q1 2024 >>56856074.

>Okay well aktually your wages have increased to match the increase in Col from the assraping increase in inflation
these faggot economists keep parroting this line but what they don't tell you is the vast majority of the gains in wages were in the extreme top and extreme bottom. So if you were a food/retail/warehouse wagie makig 12-13 an hour and you're now making 17-18 an hour it sounds like a huge jump on paper, but its still a shit wage.
And that's not even getting into that the only people who get any increase are from hopping jobs
I hate economists so much its unreal

Wow most people are fucking retarded. Pre-COVID: all I heard is that wages don't keep up with inflation and people are now magically acting like that's something new. I'm definitely way wealthier now than pre-pandemic and that's accounting for inflation.

Congrats. Now, I think it would be amusing to see the Dems' hyped up, Boogeyman-fears actually come to life, and Trump put in place a dictatorship. These people clearly don't deserve a voice.

True. I also don't trust any stats from the US govt and it's subsidiary so called private entities. The things they don't count as unemployed, and the things they count and weigh in gdp calculations would make your head spin.

>The median American is wealthier and has a better standard of living than ever before, including post ww2!!!!!*
*So long as they don't plan to ever buy a house, rent never goes up, their debt stays the same, they only have 1.5 kids, drive within 1.3 miles to work, and don't buy cigarettes, jello, and Buffalo hot sauce because those things all throw off the calculations we expect for a healthy economy for some reason.
