What are mistakes you made during the last bull run that you learned from and won’t repeat again this time around?

Go with initial gut feelings, remember that there is a big drop after the initial pump and its ok to buy back in cus there will be another albiet smaller pump, and dont tell friends/family

Some bits. Doesn't mean I lost money due to any of these reasons, just things I've learned over the my short 5 years in crypto. Most of it is common sense. I am not a whale, maybe an overweight tuna.

>depositing x to recieve yx is a taxable event if your a cucked burger

>airdrops, staking rewards, incentives, count as income, which is not tax deductible in a meaningful way

>99% of ct, telegram, influencer, internet personalities are grifters. (My mistake was thinking the number was closer to 90%)

>people feel losses alot more than gains. Keep that in mind whenever someone asks you for advice/recommendations. If your right, they're happy. If your wrong, they feel x times worse.

>market maker kikery is real. There is literally a guy/team of guys who job it is to take as much money as possible from you. the fed has a similar job. Between the fed and the way taxes are structured in the US, it really is a complete scam made to keep wagies as poor as possible

>whenever something offers apy, it's extremely important to understand where it's coming from. See: anchor, celsius, ftx, nexos, bancor

>99% of projects are scams and or vc/influencer pnd (my mistake was assuming the number was closer to 95%)

>money only solves money problems. Do not neglect your relationships and health.

i made minimal mistakes

in 2017 i sold too early, so in 2021 i was slower to sell but 2021 was a much tamer bull market and was caught flat footed by the may 2021 selloff. still did fine but didn't sell as much as i should have by april-may 2021

this time i feel like because everyone expects the bull markets to get less intense over time, it will actually be far more intense and resemble more like 2013 or 2017 than 2021 - i won't even think about selling a single coin until we breach the btc ATH and when we do, i'll start thinking more about my game plan for scaling out

the key now is to do NOTHING if you've already secured a bag. sitting on your hands is the hardest part but that's what generates all the gains. dont get shaken out

Don't ever put my shit on CeFi ever again. I was very lucky to not get got last cycle but it's not worth the risk. Zoomers, heed my words.

just having a plan of when to take profits, and actually sticking to it. A long time ago I read here to take 8% at each doubling. That seems way too aggressive to me. I'm going to take 10% at 10x just to cover my initial investment, and let the rest ride.

Not taking enough profits. My first bull market and twitter got me euphoric and greedy.

Pretty much 50X'd my initial and ended up about 2x up when I cashed out.

The token in question had a catastrophic crash from about $1.40 ATH in a matter of days.

I bought BTC close to the top (around 50K), and then I sat on it for a few months and sold at a loss.
Basically I started buying because of the hype and I had people telling me to go in.
This time, when I bought, there was no hype, there was no advice.
I DCA'd into Bitcoin and other coins between November 2022 and January 2023, then I bought more in May.
I'm up in all my positions, though I would be more up relatively speaking if I only bought Bitcoin.
I am willing to hold for multiple years, and I will hold until the top, simple as.

I will gladly share with you a piece of wisdom right now.
Want to know the bottom? Use the CVDD indicator, that's what I used in November, December and January to DCA:
Want to know the top? Use the Terminal Price indicator or the Pi Cycle Top Indicator, that's what I'll use to sell.
All indicators are available on LookIntoBitcoin

>> No.56847827

>>56847786
Thanks, but I have an indicator that works well for me - and that is, monitoring the daily thread count on /biz/. I have a threshold set where I will sell without hesitation.

Gud post. I'll add:
>there is no fundamental value. There is no tech. The only value is subjective and based entirely on greed/fear. Buy fear and sell greed, the "tech" is a midwit trap.
>since crypto is entirely based on greed/fear cycles, it's quite comparable to a game of poker. Study how gamblers play poker and lose all their money to the pros, and you will understand how the same happens in crypto.

Well, I hold GMX myself but don't let the illusion of fundamental value fool you... the value of a casino is only as good as the value it's customers place on gambling, which is based on nothing except greed.
