About 3.5 hours a day in what we would consider “work” in order for a Native American Plains Indian prior to the arrival of Europeans. Most Hunter-Gatherers had their lifestyle science honed to perfection over millennia of trial and error societal evolution. Never before Totalitarian Agriculture have humans had to work so hard and long to simply survive. Our only hope of existing happily and healthily on this planet for Eons is to return to Hunter/Gatherer/Herder lifestyle in natural balance with land; any other societal construct is cancer.

The knowledge exists now, and unless you oppressively prevent people from using more technology (which already ruins the comfy hunter-gatherer setup), people are going to make some use of it. Someone will use it to make guns and conquer you, or make machines to farm with and factories, etc. to massively outcompete you. There's a reason hunter-gatherers disappeared from most of the world. Your return to nature lifestyle would eventually be disrupted and collapse too.

Not if you move innawoods and 3D print the machines you need. But that still means complying with the system as it stands until you get enough wealth to vanish. It's true forever, revert to sticks and stones and you will probably be crushed and individual sacrifice is meaningless next to living, don't underestimate the other guys greed and use more gun.
