Should I go with a regular 200k average house with a huge garden, several acres of farm land, or should I opt for a one million dollar mansion with several floors, historical importance and also a bigger garden? I dont think I need that much space and I think it might be a scam and I might be overpaying, but I also feel like this is a very high status mansion that will basically cement me as a Lord among my family and peers and it could rise in value over time, but I just don't think I need all that much space? Is a castle like that also hard to upkeep?

It really depends upon your motives and what you hope to gain.
I think it would be a pain in the ass to maintain and showing everyone how much money you have would give you some social clout, I guess, but what for? To have people like you for your money, or keep hoping for a handout or a free meal? That's not what I'd like. Don't forget that your primary residence is a liability, not an asset. Unless you're a tradesman with an abundance of free time, keep it smaller and more manageable. The house won't make you money or earn you an income, keep your focus on what does. Unless you plan on doing rental/ arbnb/ BRRRR, etc. with it.

Depends. If you want a family, like more than 2 kids, go for the mansion. If you plan to die alone and maybe your parents when they get elderly, get the house and spend on buying cool toys or remodeling. Cheers!
