To put it bluntly, mom's got no teeth.

It was a long many year process (of metaphorical kicking and screaming) to get her to even see a dentist and assess the damage over the decades. A tooth falling out lit a fire but it was still a long process to get work done with multiple delays over dumb things (in addition to metaphorical kicking and screaming). On the way to getting all-on-4 dental implants, she's gotten the problem teeth removed and bone stuff examined/worked on and recently has gotten dentures. Implants to follow in the future (hopefully sooner than later).

Even when she still had teeth she'd cut down her options of stuff she'd eat because of tooth pain. A lot of the stuff we get or make for her she says tastes bad or she can't eat because of her teeth/mouth. Then I'd catch her eating Cheetos puffs later (before the teeth extractions) so I dunno. She picks and makes a vast majority of the food she eats by herself.

She's still grumpy about the dental work, but I'm hoping it'll be worth it in the end when she can actually eat more stuff again.

It's not just that nothing is happening, it's that we seem to have completely run out of hopium. Everyone was bigging up the June shareholders meeting, the upcoming stock split, everyone was so sure MOASS was just around the corner and then... nothing happened.
Now all that people can muster is "trust me bro, it will happen soon, because - just read the DD, trust me bro". There are no new upcoming catalysts, nothing to indicate that Kenny can't just just keep doing what he's doing for another 5-10 years, nothing.
I think a lot of people - myself included - are getting pretty demoralised. I know you'll just call me a shill but the truth is I've been holding and posting since Jan 2021. Shit seemed to be happening then. DFV was posting all the time. The stock was going wild - the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. There was good fucking DD being released. There are only two days in a year where I let myself get my hopes up and usually get disappointed/depressed for a variety of dumb reasons. One of those days is Christmas where surprising my mom and sisters with the gifts I got them is the highlight helping to keep it from setting in. I got up on Saturday, used the bathroom, and was greeted by my masked mom to find out that we're going to be quarantining in our own home. My dad, the least responsible member of the family about going out since the whole lockdown madness started, had finally come back with a positive test result.

He's the source of a whole slew of family issues that's too long to get into. I do not buy gifts for him. He gets communal gifts from the rest of the immediate family. Everyone is sectioned off into their own spaces at home with my mom running everything and having to take care of him. The dental work my sisters and I have been trying to get her to get done for well over a year and some months was only recently getting good progress and that is going to have be delayed yet again.
