Without know any further details, I honestly think that she would be best off you just putting it in rolling 4 week t-bills for her
You could set it up through the treasury website or through her broker, where the interest from the bonds each month would go to her personal bank account that she could use for living expenses - the principal can be on auto-invest
this would be the most hands free way for her to be receiving income risk free off of the $200K, it would also protect her in case of market risk where the 1 month time frame doesn't lock her in to super long dated bonds, so that if the market did fall sharply she would be able to access the funds and buy the market when it was cheaper
If she has no savings, I think that this would provide her the best quality of life improvement, as this could be $800+ a month in income for her, while also keeping the $200K if medical costs arise
It obviously is not the optimal growth for accruing capital gains / the largest return on her $$$, but if the situation is as you describe, imo this is the best way to help her out, risk free, where she'll see immediate benefit to her in daily life

Another day. Another day of getting paid to do "nothing". So today I did as I've taken to do as of late; watch the SAVE ticker on google. Seen it do the run to 15. Did some quick math. Realized I was sitting on 39% gain. Also realized that the profit thus far would nip my credit card debt (zero interest period) in the bud. So hey I'm not a fool. I sold fast as hell. The only drawback to me selling as I did was that I'm still paying on a personal loan but the rate on that is piss low. Got that before rates went nuts. So meh. So all in all I'm happy.

Yeah. I wasn't aiming to be to greedy. The main goal was nipping that credit card debt in the bud before the zero period ran out. I can take that money I was punting on credit card payments over and pay off my personal loan quicker now if I want. Or not. I mean the rate is low. You need to look at different volume metrics. I use:
-Volume Profile (but I have this on my L2 so I don't see it on the graph, it's in the price action so I can see where resistance is and how far away I am from it)
-Volume Weighted MACD (great leading indicator to other MACDs)
-Awesome Oscillator
-MACD over Volume (not really sure what this one is called, but it shows the volume in red and green, and the darkness of the color changes depending on which direction volume is moving)

I use all of these as leading indicators, as well as a couple SMAs on the chart and simple bollinger bands to swing trade during the day.
