So Milei is the first leader of a country in over 120 years who supports COMPETING CURRENCIES and abolishing his country's central bank yet there are brainwashed retards on /pmg/ that hate him because le jews or whatever.

He supports the freedom to use gold and silver as money.

mhmm, shady to say the least.
Over here nothing that dramatic, but i noticed the premiums went up sharply the part few days.
We were comfy back down to the 2€ range, and suddently it rose to 3.60€/oz. Usually when spot goes up, premiums go slightly lower, but this time around they spiked alongside spot valuation.
And we didn't have any le black friday offers with our online shops, they don't give a shit about that over here.

Again, I just don't know, but who goes out of their way to publicly suck jew dick like that while also trying to destroy a central bank? I hope for Argentina that it really is an act, because saddling up with the US and Isreal is obviously not the safest or most beneficial long term strategy for South American countries lol.

No clue. I was sorta thinking the banks are probably just selling them to US dealers who kick back to them, but that theory doesn't really jive with all 5 major bank's branches in a single city within a month. I would assume they'd just tell customers if there's a delay from the mint . I don't understand the shadiness except that someone wants there to be an appearance of availability. These banks all advertise them on their websites with spot pricing graphics, they compete on the premiums, give different discounts for paying with USD etc...all on real time. Why bother with all that if you don't want to actually sell them?

No idea. Maybe they fear with social medias the word spread out too fast if they all appear OOT and a FOMO panic ensue?
Only thing i'm sure of is the yearly production is absurdly low, they gotta do something about it. I get the idea of keeping some aura of "prestige" thanks to a limited supply, but here it's just retarded. The mission of a governmental mint is to meet the country's population demand for resonably priced coinage. And they are failing their mission every year. A shame as you said for the largest producer worldwide. Meanwhile the austrian mint succesfully produce for all of the EU (only € denominated oz) and Austria don't mine a single ounce of silver... Clownworld

Bro, if you can't even understand why a minimum of social protection and public infrastructure without the idea of profit leading each of their decision is required within a society, then there is no point arguing. The main common factor i noticed from all ancaps is a psychopatic trait. You don't have any ability for empathy. Because you are strong (or rather think yourself as such), only yourself matter in the equation. But not everybody is strong. And you wont always be strong. And you don't necessarly have to step over the meek.

You witness a failed system and immediately assume it's the design of the system itself who is flawed. Yes corrupt men profited and abused from the socialist regime in Argentina. Yes, big government is a bloated, sick structure rotting everything, who feel the need to create always more absurd regulations to justify their existence. Yes they are a dead weight smothering innovation and stealing people's dreams by creating a kafkaian nightmare.

Does it mean the very concept of government and social policies are wrong? No. As in anything it's about nuances. We need to bring back down the size of our absurdly large and costly governments where nepotism is the rule. 1/2

But we must do it with reason, not capitalizing on emotions like this kike sucker is doing, to rip apart all the good things who have been built over the last century.
The exact opposite of big government is also big government, you'd understand it if you consired for a minute a government is a big corpo who granted themselves the moral virtue of deciding in the name of the people. Nature hate the void. Those regulations smothering freedom and creativity among the people, they were also requested by big corp, who wanted to secure their various monopolies.

So instead of acting like a meth abusing chimpanjew, Javier should better try to negociate and use reason. You want to destroy big gubment? Fine, then you must destroy big corp too, because it's the same tyranny.

And one thing you must understand is there are locking doors within a government. Offices held by oldfags nobody heard about and who can completely shut down a nation, because they know the system, they designed the modern hierarchical structure within. When you antagonize those dudes, promizing you'll fire them and all their buddies from their cushy jobs, your country grind to a halt. And the government become completely paralized.
To destroy big government, you need the help of big government, otherwise, like any other living structure, it will fight for it's survival at any cost if it feels attacked.
One thing i can promise you is Javier will never accomplish anything if he goes full frontal against government workers.
But he probably don't care, i fear he's just at the service of bankers who have for only goal to sell the infrastructure and call it a deal. It is perfectly achieveable under a complete statu quo.

Nope. The main reason corporations are so powerful is government control.

What's wrong with emotions? The people of Argentina are fed up with decades of failed socialism.
>to rip apart all the good things who have been built over the last century.
LMAO what good things?
>Those regulations smothering freedom and creativity among the people, they were also requested by big corp, who wanted to secure their various monopolies.
Yeah no shit, this is the main point Libertarians like Milei have been making.
>One thing i can promise you is Javier will never accomplish anything if he goes full frontal against government workers.
Government "workers" are parasites, especially in Argentina.

"Gold is a great thing to sew into your garments if you're a Jewish family in Vienna in 1939, but I think civilized people don't buy gold, they invest in productive businesses.

I don't think precious metals amount to a good investment. They have no real utility. Anyone watching from Mars would be baffled that, for centuries, humans have utilized large amounts of a resource to dig up metal from the ground only to store and guard that metal in vaults."

I've dreamed about silver frens. The first dream I was back at my last job on night shift, and it was my first day back from my current job for some reason. There was an employee feast and I started down the line and took a little amount of vegetables on my plate, but I got to this immaculate pie that no one touched. I cut into it and underneath the filling were various silver coins in capsules. So I got as many onto my partly empty plate as I could and covered them in salad. I went to my desk, dropped off the coins, locked my desk and then I woke up.

In the second dream I had a few days later I was in my childhood home as an adult, but still lived with my parents and had my old room. I was going to go for a walk in some woods and was going to grab one of my CCW handguns (one I actually own, two were revolvers I don't own). When looking through my top dresser drawer for a holster, some random dumbass woman came into my room and started taking tiny silver bars and coins out of the drawer next to me. She put them in a plastic sandwich bag and asked if she could have them. I checked the cylinder on a revolver I don't own where the casings all had spent primers before I answered with a firm "No." I woke up soon after.

These dreams are surreal but it's also like they happened in an alternate reality.

Ok i'll sum up my thinking on the matter so it's not just a back and forth of rebuttals.
To me, big gub & big corp are two sides of the same jewish coin of power consolidation.
They grew up in parallel, evolving at the same pace thanks to dynasties of financiers who wanted to build a hegemonic power structure over the entire world.

It's not something who emerged by chance, it's a concerted effort crafted into a reality over a centuries long jewish-led conspiracy. It now claim absolute control over all private AND public institutions -the scamdemic was a testimony of this worldwide hegemony-, in such a way it is almost impossible for an outsider to emerge. They necessarily have been co-opted beforehand. We have seen this schema repeat countless times already for the past 60 years : the controlled opposition puppet claiming to side with the people who volte face the minute he's in office to double down on was his predecessor did. The only people truly fighting for the common people will never hold any official position, nor have a minute of TV to speak their ideas. They get suicided, exiled, shuned or jailed. You don't build a career being an enemy of the talmudic dynasties, you destroy it.

If Javier the self-admitted kike lover was allowed to rise in power, it's because he has been allowed to do so. Thus, he will never fight against the global jewish dominion. It's impossible. So sucking his dick will only prove to be yet another disappointment to fanboys of your kind. I simply try to prevent such disappointment : No, he wont fight big ZOG. No, he wont fight big globohomo. No, he wont fight the jewish world order.
The minute you saw him appear on TV you should have known this.

I've just been around long enough to know that a uppity politician who tries to do something positive for the populace is easily sideline and dealt with. Talk is cheap and I don't speak spanish well enough or care to even listen to politicians anymore so I am going to place my bets on these positive ideals being completely fabricated bullshit or DOA because the nexus of power gets what it wants if it wants it bad enough.

OK after thinking about it, i decided to acquire this silver tetradrachm, it's from the Seleucid kingdom (actual Syria), under the rule of Demetrius Ier Soter in 160 BC. She weights 15.6gr.

I tried to negociate a bit the price but then the seller asked for more than initially lol. So i settled for the starting price of the auction : 50€. The coin isn't in the best shape, but the face on the obverse is still pretty well conserved i think, so i'm happy with my purchase. Whad do you think frens?

It's central bank buying that is propelling the price now. Ordinarily, higher rates = bad for gold (more attractive to earn yield); this is the first time ever that gold is near all time highs while rates have increased.

I know a couple of coin dealers who sell at coin shows, and online, and they both confirmed it's been a buyer's market for the past few months, with the covid stimulus and "silver squeeze" panic buying has long passed. Retail seems to be tapped out.

>Central bank demand for gold saw no let-up in Q3, building on the record-breaking first half of the year. Global official gold reserves rose by 337t, 120% higher q/q and the second highest third quarter total following Q3 2022.1 On a y-t-d basis, central banks have bought an astonishing net 800t, 14% higher than the same period last year.

>Whad do you think frens?

I thought you were just using that picture as an example of the type and referring to a coin in worse condition when you posted about it earlier, it is worn and shows some evidence of modern smoothing in the background/field on the obverse, but the coin is authentic and easily identifiable. 50 euros is a good deal for that, very cheap for a tetradrachm and I think it's actually pleasant to look at so should give you joy to fondle and contemplate. You can't go wrong buying attractive cheapies, that was a savvy purchase IMHO. Also I'm not ignoring you fren, just been too busy to send an adequate email reply.

Remembering that the "H" sounds like an "e" the text "ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙ..." is easily read as "Demetri..." so if you've ever heard of any of the Greek kings named Demetrius it's easy to narrow down the attribution.

I have this rare ancient Greek sling bullet embossed with "ΔΗΜΗ/ΤΡΙO(Y)" which unambiguously signifies that it was used by a contingent of slinger soldiers under the command of a Demetrius, though I believe it was Demetrius I Poliorcetes "The Besieger" not a later Demetrius. Much more rare than the typical coins of his like in pic.

BIG NEWS!

UK court rules in favour of LME's metal market manipulation.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-11-29/lme-wins-nickel-crisis-case-as-uk-rules-against-elliott?leadSource=uverify%20wall

This means that there's very little chance of market price discovery actually happening because the gangsters run the country. We will have a similar situation to Argentina where the price of metals will be worth more on the public market than the corporation's metal market. IIRC there was a similar situation that happened in the 60's here where gold could be sold for more on mainland Europe and then that currency exchanged back into GBP which resulted in the UK government implemented capital controls.

This is the stage where we all just pretend everything is fine and ignore the paper-ponzi. The global economy is going to hum along solely on the back of massive injections of liquidity. So other countries work their hands to the bone so they can buy our debts and dollars we print out of thin air solely for what purpose? It allows foreigners to buy up more gold in the mean time? And this is an admission that the paid will be so bad that everyone is fine kicking the can. What else needs to be said that we print up enough money every year to buy out the ENTIRE silver market 100x over. How can dollars be worth anything when the supply/demand is so distorted. The only people who need dollars are people in debt and people looking to engage in international trade. Given we have seen the Petro dollar come undone, the BRICs rising, and international payments being settled outside the Swift system we have all the clues we need to know where this is all going.
Your magical stock portfolio doesn't work without the dollar reserve currency. That shit is all going to implode when we can't import 700BN dollars worth of imports for basically FREE.

boomie coin collectors have watched with horror and indignation as china has been allowed to dump billions of fake ASE's and Morgans and other coins on the unsuspecting and greedy US markets. This is a problem that /pmg/ rarely acknowledges and has little response to other than to personally educate themselves about fakes. Which does nothing to stop the sale of fakes on every online marketplace and undoubtedly at many local markets.

In this situation a slab isn't valuable for the grade, but simply for the guarantee that the item is real. Yes, fake slabs exist, but they can easily be checked against rosters of legit coins to ID and dispose of them. And for this reason alone china hasn't seriously bothered faking slabs. They're all individually registered, and a number being copied or invented is going to show up pretty fast.

so yeah, slabs may very well go up in value quite quickly. Already coin collectors in the US are turning to slabs just to avoid the risk of getting fake coins from some dumbass who bought them second, third, or fourth hand off chinese scammers and their gullible victims. It would be surprising if some of those fakes didn't find their way into the collections of /pmg/ given how many have been produced and sold. You guys regularly post coins that appear fake, and occasionally post coins that are obviously fake. Slabs fix that problem.

But there's the caveat that most of eligible isn't movable into registered because it belongs to someone else, most notably like 80 million oz belong to SLV alone. The bullion banks are lucky if half of eligible is actually usable.

Reading myself, i think i went all over the place too fast without explaining the basics.
So to make it clearer (from memory):
Comex stands for COMmodity EXchange. There are a dozen of active participants, all big banks, JPM is the main custodian.
They have vaults full of gold and silver in the form of big bars, which they trade the custody to each others depending on their long/short positions.
A large chunk of this haul is allocated to (partially) back the Blackrock's ETFs : SLV for silver, and GLD for gold.
To bring confidence to the ETFs buyers, they put an "exchange your paper for bars" back in 2010 or so iirc. Of course the average ETF holder will never ever be allowed to show up at the vaults and ask for his bars.

Since the numbers are freely availible and disclosed 20h after each trading day, some people track those numbers and look at who is buying, and how much PM are leaving or entering the vaults.
Thing is, it drew some attention because since January 2021, the vaults for both gold and silver have been bleeding pretty hard, and the banksters didn't seems too eager to replenish for a while (they were (((smart))) and loaded up during the covid dip), but now they are forced to because the demand isn't diminishing. The silver vaults dried by 33%, while the gold ones by 54% iirc.

Imho we shouldn't pay too much attention to this. But it's still interesting to have a glimpse of what's going on behind the curtains. Big moves can announce some position-reversal for example.

>I've seriously no clues where you find such oddities, that's really impressive. What was the practical range for a slingshot for a trained greek slinger?

Mostly ebay, or directly from the detectorists or collectors I met through ebay. I have an autistic hard-on for ancient cast lead (or rare bronze) sling bullets and shaped stone or baked clay projectiles, I think they're some of the coolest artifacts on earth and am good at finding things generally so have managed to acquire some great pieces. The effective range of a slinger was well over 100 meters, and the best slingers could probably hit a man-sized target reasonably reliably up to 200 meters away. They could send a high-trajectory volley to rain down on enemy formations over 400 meters away.

>>56812190
>they could be devastating with lead balls or stones

Some of the best artifacts in my collection are these extremely rare bronze-bladed sling bullets. The more "common" ones are the several cast from solid bronze with blades at either end which were then hammer-hardened and sharpened after casting.

The most rare and precious of all are the ones with a separately-cast and finished bronze blade which was then positioned in a mold so a core of lead could be poured around the blades, these niggas are all from Cyprus and date to right around 500 BC, I believe they were used by the most elite of the Cypriot sharpshooter-slingers in the defense of the island from the invading Babylonians. Sling bullets were of course slower than projectiles in the age of gunpowder, but the median weight of the bladed bullets was around 60 grams so their kinetic energy alone would deliver formidable crushing blows (as with normal sling projectiles), but the addition of razor-blades to plunge through flesh and armor turned them into the stuff of nightmares.

Most of the chinese fakes flooding markets right now are NOT silver. So you guys would easily spot them. But some of them are silver and I suspect a few stacks here of having them.

but either way the slab guarantees the coin is real, and US coin collectors are certainly buying more slabs than they used to. The problem is that turns coins into basically a tokenized currency with the same weakness as crypto. The internets go down and those slabs are worthless.

I hate how ebay never take any action against sellers selling obvious fakes to gullible 'tards. Really speaks volume about their supposed ethics. I remember discussing with a pretty large junk coin seller on the platform who constantly reported those accounts, and they never did anything. So he said fuck this and made something really based : for each commonly faked coin, he post a listing at a ridiculously low price, and in the description he explain in length how to spot fakes for this coin, what details are wrong, the metal alloy used, diam/weight; etc...

>It would be surprising if some of those fakes didn't find their way into the collections of /pmg/ given how many have been produced and sold.
meh, if you pay attention and are already familiar with the real deal, this shouldn't be an issue. Most my stack comes from years of ebay scouting for junk. And more than once i landed on fakes, it's still very rare mind you, but it's just i purchased thousands of those. And at first sight i could spot them. If you spend enough time always in contact with real coins, the fakes immediately standout like a sore thumb. Then usually i tell the seller about it and they refund me for the difference, or ebay do it for me if they don't answer. I now own a little stack of all sort of fake silber lol. Oh, and never once the sellers asked for the fakes back, which is a good sign i think. At least with me they are leaving circulation for good.
Pic rel is the last fake i came across in a lot, was a week or so ago.

Junk silver/Bullion is almost entirely real. Even from eBay. (Don’t buy from people that ship from China, hello!)

That’s to be distinguished from slabs, which are for numismatics (drawing significantly more from their numismatics value than their silver value. (Which most of us here only dabble in on rare occasion)

Buy where you like, if you worried, get it tested for free at your local LCS. No need to be scared and over pay for a slab when what we are doing here is collecting weight and having fun along the way. Keep stacking real wealth. Keep that train rollin baby!
