Iam surrounded by people who think that $16 to $25/hr jobs are good and a reason to be proud of. If you land a job that pays $20/hr u made it.

Probably not a LARP. It's common among high skill white collar jobs. My situation is pretty similar except I make $170k + stock options. I know other people in my field making similar amounts who work maybe 15-20 hours a week.

Not him but the $170k anon here. I do cyber security. The trick is to legitimately be very good and work very hard up until you get to a certain level. Then, you just sort of start coasting. Nowadays I mainly just sit in meetings and write reports occasionally.

Boomers aren't going to pay the $50/hr (that you deserve after they counterfeited the money supply hard in covid) for light factory work.

This image was created before covid.

I've been in a similar situation for years. It really does a number on you if you don't get exposed to outside perspectives and realize how far you can actually go. Imagine thinking £40k is a top-tier wage. Imagine thinking that if you have £50k in the bank it's an extremely high amount of savings and you should be proud of it. If you have the potential to actually make it, but you think like this, then you stop trying far too early and you waste your potential. So glad I found places like /biz/ and woke up.

Depending on where you live and how frugal you are with your money $20/hr is a decent wage.
