Could someone explain why are bonds paying less and less? 4-5% is now considered "high rates", and if long term index funds that are holding long term debt (like TLT, or Vanguard 20YR Euro if you are from EU) start going up, it means that the market is ok with these rates and they expect them to go back down... but how low? are we going back to 1%-2% rates? im assuming no negative rates again. But again, if we go into easy money again, wouldn't this cause inflation again, needing to raise rates?

Could someone explain this to an high school dropout?

People are now buying bounds because the bull market is now over.
