is it true that wages are lower in places like West Virginia so it cancels out the lower cost of living?

Yes, the key is to get a job that pays the normal wage of a high income state (via WFH or any other method) and enjoy the low COL of low income states.

I gotta do this. Live in one of the most expensive states in the country like a retard.

things that aren't factored in that lower the cost of living further, food self sufficiency, power self sufficiency, building your own home

things that aren't possible in any city area

you will come out ahead by far by living in the country, if you decide to build your own home or dwelling or even live in a trailer or high quality tent, planting a large garden, and hunting and fishing

your food costs go down to atleast half assuming you put in a decent effort, your housing costs maybe 1/10th, and your taxes will also be 1/10th, property tax etc, because if we assume you can buy 20 acres approximately for less than 100k, and the amount of value you get from it via hunting, planting, even possibly building a log cabin

country comes out on top every time

also, chickens aren't very difficult, and if you have the ability to own cows or pigs, they are also pretty cheap to raise currently, with the right understanding, even if it's only 1 or 2 of them

Yes and no. There are low COL areas that are near to high paying jobs though. If you live in the panhandle of West Virginia you are very near to the DC/Baltimore metro area so you can commute if you're willing. Also if you're a limp wrist office cuck you can always make good money in the trades just about anywhere.

Whichever one interests you. I'm a union factory worker not a true tradie, but it's blue collar work still. I make more money than my roommate who is an accountant.
