honestly there are 3 tiers and they all run just fine. the difference is mostly in the name and lifetime of the barrels/bolts. aside from knights arm and a few others that use proprietary parts ar15 is very much plug and play

the best things you can do to an ar15 is

>better charging handle than milspec
>giesslie trigger or something better

honestly the above are about the only changes id make to most ar15s. plus these cheap ar1s5 are great as basic hosts for knock around guns and generally speaking can get 4-500 bucks for them on a bad day. diversifying is key and guns are down right now while ammo and precious metals are up

There's the NA arms .22 revolvers. That's about as small as you can get. The keltec p3at and the other .32 version are also insanely tiny, though none of those are going to be easy nor enjoyable to shoot lol. There's also a Ruger .22 lcp though I haven't shot one myself. I'm sure it's fine though and likely on sale at lots of place for BF. They seemed to have worked out any kinks in that line a while ago. I personally tried lots of pocket pistols before settling on 1911 style .380s as the best all around for weight/size/firepower ratio as well as the fact that they are easy to shoot compared to most plastic pocket pistols and I can hit followup shots better than the 9mm pocket pistols due to the reduced muzzle flip and recoil of tiny 9mm guns. Check out the Underwood extreme defender monolithic ammo for pocket pistol cartridges instead of any sort of hollowpoints. More penetration that HPs, but better expansion and energy transfer than fmj.

Forgot to add that you can still find old colt .32 autos, but I doubt they're gonna be cheap lol. Taurus used to make clone baby barettas that were solid but that was 25+ years ago as well. There's probably a lot of newer pocket pistols I'm not aware of though as it's not something I read up on much these days. Maybe someone else has more suggestions, but I will say: avoid the Saturday night special pocket pistols. The slide will often slice your hand up assuming they work at all. Also, avoid the plastic frame ones if you like shooting barretas as you'll likely be disappointed by them. I've never seen anyone shoot more than 2 mags out of the keltecs I mentioned, and neither with an lcp when I think of it lol. Ive never shot a colt .32 myself but I'm sure it's nicer to shoot than a keltec kek.

PSA and Anderson are what they are...cheap, massed produced parts, and generally GTG. If that's the only thing you can afford, just buy a $12 small parts kit and a backup bcg and CH. It will be fine enough. If you have visions of taking on an opposing force with your team, then sure, buy better parts and build your dream gun, but the ponies and PSA will work just fine.

I'm actually running a PSA (not premium line) upper and bbl on my primary AR myself at the moment. Maybe 400 rds of mostly steel through it and no issues yet. I also didn't clean the bcg group before I swapped it in, nor cleaned this upper at all yet lol. It's still better than the model 1 shit and maybe the Delton stuff that the "poors" used to use, and function issues were pretty rare back then as well.
