>we require 5 years experience in this specific job
>a bachelors degree in this specific field
>starting pay $19 an hour

>door dash, uber eats, grubhub
>just download the app lol
>$25-$30 an hour average

What the fuck is this economy?

>> No.56736621

one is at a comfy desk another is practically shift work and wear and tear on your car

that being said shift work pays well but the schedule sucks

>> No.56736657

>>56736621
that's not the point. the point is no ones getting that job for 19 an hour so they'll settle for a $15 an hour job that's even worse and door dashies will make double their money without HR roasties breathing down their necks, without lunchbreaks that are over by the time you sit down, etc

Uber / DoorDash don't compensate you for gasoline or wear on your vehicle so that $25 per hour is more like $12.50 per hour

some people claim that Uber / DoorDash actually pay less than minimum wage once you've accounted for the cost of gasoline and vehicle repairs

>> No.56736843

Does anyone not think its fucked up that you have to be a normie from the get go, or you're essentially fucked?

The only reason I got into crypto is because I felt depressed and rejected and isolated in high-school and was aimless so I dropped out of society and just stayed a NEET for a long time

Fast forward to my 30s I am unemployable, so I am forced to just do stupid shit like crypto and various other "depressed white guy who fell through the cracks" type of shit to get paid

>> No.56737035

Are u fucking retarded? Are you not choosing a comfy job in a fucking office with a salary raise opportunity(that's if you are not a lazy faggot that gets fired) over a door dash job where you don't even know if you have orders or if you won't get stabbed in a ghetto by a nigger? Go ahead, get a door dash job, see how you search for a "$19/hour" roastie job in a month

also there's zero growth potential at a wagie job. idk what shit degree you have for $19/hour to be a realistic starting wage, but dumbshit HR roasties and recruiters are making $20-25/hour starting these days and can hit $35-40/hour with a few years of experience and job hopping. i work in accounting and started out at $27/hour about 5 years ago. today i make about $50/hour and could make closer to $65/hour if i wanted to take the management pill.

As an aside, "per hour" as a way of looking at things is has been annoying me lately. Yearly income is what matters.

>> No.56737391

>>56737374
$/hour is the only metric that matters considering time is your most precious resource. but i understand what you mean. i make ~$100k annual income. i normalized it to a 2080 hour work week. in reality, between pto, holidays, and slacking off, i work like 1200 hours a year.

I got a job with no prior experience, I have bachelors degree and went through this 3 month coding course which promised a job in a large software company.
I've learned so much and gotten so much praise from my input. Been working for a couple of years now.

>starting pay $19 an hour
>starting
Yeah, I got around 20€ an hour when I started, 23,92 after the first year and now Im making around 28€. I think I can reach 40€ an hour in maybe 5 years or so.
Also working 100% remotely, doing tax deductions from "home office" and all my gaming gear etc. lol

And I work maybe 2-5 hours a day and get paid from 8 hours.

I have a mechanical engineering degree and my first job out of school in 2020 was for 55k w/mandatory 60 hour work weeks. Came out to ~$17.60/hr before taxes.

Granted it scales really quickly and I make double that amount now but most entry level jobs have shit pay even if you are STEM.
