Herd behavior systemic risk
>When hedge funds engage in herding behavior, they may all rush to make similar investment decisions based on the actions of others, leading to a lack of diversity in investment strategies. This behavior can amplify market movements and increase the vulnerability of the financial system to large, coordinated moves. It may result in crowded trades, where many funds are concentrated in the same positions, making the market more susceptible to sudden and severe corrections if sentiment reverses.

With traditional, you pay taxes on all distributions, basis vs growth is irrelevant. And taxes now vs taxes later come out to the same tax bill, as that other anon pointed out. Depending on your withdrawal strategy, you will want some taxable income in retirement. Might want to research withdrawal strategies, if you don't plan on retiring early, keep doing what you are doing, there's nothing wrong with it. Because of your large income I'd still bump that 401 contribution to 12%, you'll hardly notice a difference, and in a few decades it will make a HUGE DIFFERENCE!

Don't tighten your financial situation, get a 30 year and if you have the funds to pay it off early, then allocate that amount that it would take to have it paid off in 15. Life happens, and you might need to have a few hundred dollars a month for a while over the course of 30 years.

Option 2; Deal is reached, stock price does nothing, I'll get my sack of green once JBlu closes the deal. Option 3; Fuckary happens and the govt lawyers win, I'll hold my SAVE waiting for it to move up to the 52w high cause the company isn't going bankrupt. I dunno the main selling point of RE1/RE2//RE3 remakes were the graphic overhauls and that's it really. They completely fucked with the story elements. Whole parts of the games got changed from what they were in the originals. Ex: Original RE2 featured a segment of iron's basement torture chamber and a Sherry/AdA mini quest that was short and quick. New RE2, does away with that completely and makes other things more complex than they were in the original. To me a "remake" is just that. You upgrade the graphics and you leave everything else as they were. (aside: I never could get RE2 remake to launch properly but RE3 did just fine though so go figure. Even on the very small off chance it doesn't go through, most of Spirit's expenses were jet fuel which has gone down in price. Total 2022 loss was $270 million. This year so far the loss was $280 million. They've pulled $1 billion+ in revenue every quarter. Right, but the point is that the equity today is closer to a call option in these various potential factors. It's a fact that spirit on balance sheet is worth less than it was during covid. It's a fact that Spirit brand is toxic and the company is spiraling towards future insolvency.
That March covid crash was a special time, where equity values rapidly imploded based on the unique uncertainty of the events at that time. Markets had to price in the chance of a deflationary collapse due to lockdowns/fear, versus bailouts and infinite stimulus. In the end, we all know what path the government chose.
It's not really comparable to today, nor is it an absolute floor price that shall never be breached. The only real floor is bankruptcy.

In truth, I like the SAVE merger odds. Although I also believe it's important to stay aware that there is a losing scenario which exists. It's not an all-in no brainer play. There is no stop loss. You need to weigh the odds and size accordingly, so that in the unlikely scenario they actually do lose the trial and shit gaps down 50% overnight, you'll still have a portfolio.
I think it's useful to contemplate the bearish angles too.

I disagree. Bad corporate governance often leads to extended underperformance. Decisions compound.

I'll have to look more into their current buyback plan. If the rate of buybacks is sufficient then that could maybe warrant a purchase. I've seen plenty of poorly managed companies announce large buyback authorizations and then never utilize a single cent of that repurchase plan though. Sometimes it's just a ploy to distract disgruntled investors.

But that's my point. If you're looking for a long term hold, capital allocation is key. ROIC drives long term gains.
A company that visibly screens cheap means nothing if the profits are being squandered internally on dead end projects and management luxuries.
It's just a lotto ticket betting on if/when some major corporate change will happen to unlock that true value. In such situations, the real advantage as an investor comes from having some insight into those true catalysts. As a short term trader, you can also bet on temporary hype of course.

I know AAPL isn't really as much in the generative AI software space / backend dev space like MSFT is, AAPL is going to get sold off big time.

What the fuck is AAPL doing besides making new overpriced iphones that people are buying less of every year (saying this as an iphone user who will still be a loyal cuck unless it gets really bad tbhonest). In terms of Relative Value investing, I am just saying that it seems like AAPL isn't doing enough with generative AI to integrate within their architectures right now.

I think i know why though - AAPL doesn't have a huge stockpile of raw data and data engineers / scientists to curate it for training data like other big tech co's do

GOOG had this issue but they're catching up. Spoke with a Keras / ex. TensorFlow employee at GOOG and he basically said they got their shit together and use META's pytorch instead of their own TensorFlow for dev kek.

Everything behind the selloff was absolute nonsense, caused by a sudden craze for weight loss drugs and "diabetes drugs" (I use that word in the most sparing sense) that are only partially effective and will have no lasting affect on diabetes rates.

Insulet makes a diabetes pump, a one of a kind product protected by copyright. It is irreplicable and it is protected. The growth of the company is almost unheard of, look at their financials. This is a company that should be priced at $400.

In addition, part of the reason the stock went down was due to a Korean knockoff company called "EoFlow" claiming that they created their own insulin pump. Turns out that it was stolen from Insulet. Eoflow's announcement caused Insulet stock to plunge and a company called Metronic to attempt to buy EoFlow.

BUT HOLD THE PHONE FUCKER. Turns out EoFlow was forced to stop trading on the stock exhange for months because Korea said "you guys stole it". Then a US copyright judge shut down EoFlow's operations in the states because they also said "you guys stole it".

Insulet is now back in charge of the only decent Insulin pump. The Metronic company is fucking off from EoFlow. The weight loss and diabetes drugs are a joke since they don't even target the actual issues.

See you all at $300 by Christmas.

Things is they're not squandering the profits. When I say they were really bad capital allocators I meant they have too much cash on their balance sheet doing nothing, They've improved on this started buying back shares reduced share based compensation and announced a dividend although I would have preferred if it all went to buybacks, but I guess it can't because of regulations. From the moment I understood the weakness of my unleveraged equities, it disgusted me. I craved the gains and certainty of leverage. I aspired to the purity of the 3x Bull ETF. Your kind cling to your dividends, as though they will not decay and fail you. One day the crude index you call the Shit and Piss 500 will wither, and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved, for the Leverage is immortal… Even in death I serve the Neon Greenissiah.

If you're already getting 2x with the matching, it would make more sense to put into a non-leveraged sp500 fund imo. That matching acts like free leverage already. So on SSO its like you have more than 2x leverage.
If you're confident SSO will do well the main downside is the higher management expense compared to something like VOO.

Yeah so the thing I've heard is that India the market Apple needs to tap into because a lot of Indians desire Mac / iOS products from AAPL but the price point is still too high for demand to be met.
I.e. Apple products are super fucking expensive for Indians, where MSFT has a stronghold.

There's a fuck load of money and man-hours going into Apple trying to penetrate the Indian market.
