The Fed's rigging is over. We go the other way now.

This line going down is what paid for 30 years of market pump. Also destroyed the middle class of the west, inflated away the dollar (and other western currencies), etc etc I'm not getting into the social commentary I just want to make money.

It has turned around. We're going up (down) now. My big question is:

Do we chop for a while and form a bottom, or does it just rocket?

Question for the options guys (downloaded trial of IKBR and playing around)

I buy a call, let's say, very early, like 1-3 months before expiry. The price is higher because of time left til expiry. I pick Strike 440 SPY. Does it matter WHERE I buy even though expiry is slightly above strikelevel? In other words: Can I even lose money buying a longterm position despite the underlying ending at or above strike level? In essence: Does timing matter or is just a bet for the endresult and your timing only influences if you make gains at the strike level or just get out with a breakeven (NO LOSS). Or can you lose despite closing above strike level, but time fucked your option to eternity so that you make losses and don't breakeven DESPITE expiry above strike level. I think the question should be clear now. Thanks

dont who is the options guy that you are referring to but i love shilling IBKR TWS for options
time does matter yes, entirely hypothetically speaking, if you buy a 1 month out 440 SPY call and in 15 days, or whenever you decide to sell, the price is still exactly the same then the price (or premium) of your call is very likely to have dropped, that is theta ass banging you
there are a couple more greeks that could save your ass but they have a bigger impact around events - vega and rho
vega could pump the price of your call if there is high volatility as vega shows how much the implied volatiltiy would move the price of your option
rho affects the price of your option based on the interest rates

IBKR TWS has a "peformance profile" for options, if you right click the bid or ask price you can click Analytic Tools -> Performance profile and it gives you a break even price, see attached

I have such a love hate relationship with IBKR, it's good half of the time and then runs like crap the other half. Good for options and futures in my experience and the web platform is better than tastyworks but it had odd quirks from time to time that don't make sense.
For example rolling options in there can be a hassle last I used it.

you buy far dte options if you expect a big move in the future but are not sure if it will take 2 weeks or 2 months
if you bought spy puts in july during the big pump because you thought this is way too high and will probably sell off soon, you'd want to catch the first leg of the drop and then ride it so you buy options that are 3 months out
it is high risk and it is why a lot of people will tell you to instead sell options and get paid using theta, i believe that requires a bigger starting portfolio and is lower risk + lower reward in general but can really blow up in your face if it goes wrong which happens very rarerly for people that are good at it, no personal experience with it just talked to people that do it

People talk about how the stock markets got absurd valuations. It's true. Overvalued growth stocks are awful to look at, and you see decent, well-adjusted asset allocators being forced to buy it because that's just what market beta is forcing them into.

But no one talks about how the dating market has absurd valuations. I was just going shopping this weekend and I saw at least 3 couples where the man was a solid 7/10 or 8/10 and they were with an overweight disgusting slob of a girlfriend who isn't fitting into any of the clothes she's wearing.

This isn't because those men are chubby chasers. It's because the valuations in the dating market are fucked. The market value for any non-obese decent girl is so fucking high that decent looking men are forced to "buy" "assets" that are grossly "overweight" (overweight).

Another way of looking at the pricing inefficiencies in the dating market is that any woman who is not obese thinks she's hot as fuck because her competitions are all slobs with no self control.

I could also buy barrieroptions or Turbo (probably warrants in english with a K.O.) on IG, which would be easier for me taxwise etc. But I'd like to see if there are occassion when this is more profitable.

The only reason would simply be, that you don't have a k.o that could be hit just for the lols only to end up winning afterwards, after being knocked out.

The entire dating market from the perspective of a male is either overweight women (literally women who have just accepted they're going to always be fat slobs with 0 self control) or non-overweight women who never put in any effort into doing anything (retarded).

This is why I would shill selling credit spreads to get your feet wet on the mechanics. Basically you sell a option and buy a lower value option to offset risk for a net credit.
If you have 500 bucks and good at directional plays doing something on the SPX would be easy and safeish enough for a someone who's green. If you're broke however the XSP does exist if you need something lower value to trade.

We've also reached the time limit on tax harvesting for those who intended on a guaranteed reentry window before a trial result.

From this point forward, flows point higher. The pain trade is now upwards.
That's not to say there can't be any evidence presented that would trigger a reevaluation of expected trial results. However, all else equal the odds favor an entry here.

Yeah, a bull put would be bullish since the put your selling is worth more than the one bought, and you want the short put to go worthless for max profit. Same with a bear call but in the opposite direction.
If you can get good at spreads it does open up a plethora of other kinds of trades you could do so it's a good, limited risk stepping stone.

>>56651419
>SPX needs more money for opening a position
Kinda sorta, for a basic 5 point spread you only need 500 bucks for collateral, so don't over do it and manage risk at reasonable deltas. For example I'd never go above 30 unless it's beyond 30 days.
That said IF you are that broke then start with the mini-SPX or the XSP. A index euro style option but at a smaller notation which is more manageable on a risk side, just less profitable but then again that's not a bad thing per se if you're getting used to the mechanics.
(This assumes you only do credit spreads on XSP btw)

It is well known croats are taller. I'm greek and 6'1, but I know many are smaller, especially older generations. And they are fat. (too much gyros, souvlaki, paidakia etc at night (though time doesn't matter, they just don't move))

Due note with Euro style options, like XSP, SPX, RUT, and NDX, there is no early exercise risk since they're cash settled.
So they ONLY go bad when the expiration date hits, a added bonus here is if you are in a bad situation you can technically keep rolling by proxy.

It's not quite that simple, a lot of them do work but that's the full extent to which they get out of the house. Just going for a walk or shopping is left to other people in their lives. A lot of the time they're basically leeches on the more healthy people around them that work too, so even if they don't have a job they'll lean on family for support instead of just jumping straight to welfare. The welfare does play a factor though.

Why are you guys being so negative? There's no way it's that bad, right? I live in EU (city of 500k people) and most people are just fine. There is just a bit of a "phenomenon" you gotta accept when it comes to women and that's the fact that she has been run through during her time at uni and all women here go to uni. I can't fathom how they manage to go to parties or "game nights" or similar almost every day.
But assuming you don't mind that (I do though and that goes against the normie mindset), the chicks here are fine. Everyone is accepting of it and there's an accepted truth among everyone I know that the more experience a woman has, the better. Weird huh?
Financially speaking, it is pretty terrifying. Heh, it's pretty funny seeing the US just keep pumping. Just as I predicted, the "downgrade" meant nothing (since it wasn't a downgrade and they just reiterated what we already knew). Steel up, indicating infrastructure building is on the rise. And so on and on. Hell, even copper decided to wake up. We are finally healing bros.

Service inflation might get a huge uptick though. We'll see tomorrow as we get insurance figures

I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked than having a daughter. Honestly, think about it rationally. You are feeding, clothing, raising and rearing a girl for at least 18 years solely so she can go and get ravaged by another man. All the hard work you put into your beautiful little girl - reading her stories at bedtime, making her go to sports practice, making sure she had a healthy diet, educating her, playing with her. All of it has one simple result: her body is more enjoyable for the men that will eventually fuck her in every hole. Raised the perfect girl? Great. Who benefits? If you're lucky, a random man who had nothing to do with the way she grew up, who marries her. He gets to fuck her tight pussy every night. He gets the benefits of her kind and sweet personality that came from the way you raised her. As a man who has a daughter, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least 20 years of your life simply to raise a girl for another man to enjoy. It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuck. Think about it logically.

Also, are we going up or down next week?
This is extremely important for my portfolio.

Economist Roger Babson was one of the most prominent prophets of doom, concluding that stock prices were wildly inflated compared to the prospect of future dividends. In September 1929, Babson told a National Business Conference in Massachusetts that “sooner or later a crash is coming which will take in the leading stocks and cause a decline from 60 to 80 points in the Dow-Jones barometer… Some day the time is coming when the market will begin to slide off, sellers will exceed buyers and paper profits will begin to disappear. Then there will immediately be a stampede to save what paper profits then exist.”

the 1929 crash was also telegraphed clearly, people were also warning about it for years
