It’s just objectively not.

It’s the amount of money a high schooler that works at Target can have saved up by working while in high school and living with their parents. It’s the amount of money that a new middle class vehicle goes for. It just barely gets you a decent down payment on the median home in the US. It’s the amount that tradies can make by working overtime.

Psychologically, everyone deep down knows it’s not a lot anymore. People have already started talking about jobs that pay 200k instead of “six figures”. 100k should be the amount youre making 2-4 years out of college, and you should be at 200k within 6-8. If you can’t do this you’re on a shitty career path.
