Thanks, I'll check it out. It's crazy how most of our problems stem from the creation of the Federal Reserve and the Gold Standard being dropped. Part of me wants to believe it's part of a century long plan to install a one world government. I am more inclined to believe Occam's Razor, where all the successful leaders have been greedy fat fucks trying to get as powerful and rich as possible by screwing the commoners over and federalizing everything.

A one world government might be part of that plan, but there are too many competing parties trying to screw each other over while in the process of screwing us commoners over.

Weird reading that in Newsweek. Even weirder seeing them say that gold constitutes 4% of the chi-com bank's assets, then admit they have no actual idea how much gold china is buying or posseses lol. And why is a Chinese professor telling an American newspaper that selling our debt to foreign countries hurts the US middle class? That should be an American interviewee explaining the concept. This is not a typical propogaganda piece. I don't think Newsweek even has a building anymore. Most of their articles are horrendous. It's probably a dozen staff on half a floor somewhere running chaptgpt to make articles and swap synonyms from AP wire blurbs. This was too coherent to be the product of modern Newsweek "editors".

This article seems like it was planted by the CCP. The bugs are gonna try to win American hearts and minds while we circle the drain, aren't they? Fuck.

You realize there are bestselling books in China about the jewish takeover of western finance and society, right? WeChat is flooded with comments about jewish monopolies in most all sectors of western life. Government officials mention it frequently as a matter of fact there.

It would be nice if the chinks were acknowledging these facts from a sympathetic point, but they are not. Most admire the jews. That's why the books about jewish power are bestellers there. Many businessman and government leaders in China are trying to learn how to BECOME jews. I'm completely serious and I assumed everyone on 4chan was aware of this. Chinks are so lacking in creativity that they admire kikery and are looking at jewish crimes to learn how to be more cunning and deceitful and, I guess, takeover the western world if they can.

Pretending to be the friend of the western man while his country collapses from decay they themselves helped to create would certainly indicate that they've learned a few more steps in the jew playbook.

Rational countries try not to import labor because long term it's a threat to sovereignty. Jews brought blacks to the Americas because they didn't care about the countries they were extracting wealth from. In America, we would abuse, round up, and sometimes dump the chinks from the railroad work on the Mexicans. Speakong of Mexicans, we deported them from California, a bunch of times, for the reason that their growing populations were a threat to the states. Chinese are already buying massive amounts of land in the US, but you can't buy a fuckin apartment in China as a US citizen. I think, for many ambitious Chinese in their loftiest dreams, they want to be the new jewish slaveowners presiding over an opulent American plantation full of white(ish?) workers. Corporatism is what has taken over western finance, and that's done with lobbying corruption through the legal system, setting up protection rackets and then creating a financial monopoly through central banks. What's happening with China and the West is that we have a situation where the pot is calling the kettle black, because it's Semitic banking families vs Sino banking families. In fact if you look all over the world, these war games of empires are all done by banking families, we're nothing but pawns for their global expansion. Again, the way to end (or weaken) all of this is for people to leave the system, and you do that by decentralizing, setting up a detached local economy around you. These banking families do not want you to do that and will do all their usual mafia tactics to put everyone into their system. They are parasites and cannot function without docile worker drones. Hell, the Roman plebs used to do this by walking out of the city to leave the elite to it which lead to them begging for their return. Everything that is happening now has happened throughout all of human history, not just the fiat scam.

I don't think normies care about metals or space at all.

It's reaching its target audience, we are the target. Not stackers, but autists. Autistic people tend to like shinies more than normal. We also often like space. The idea of escaping humanity to some new place where we can be recognized for our accomplishments and knowledge instead of our looks and social skills.

also appeals to the autistic tendency to reject normie materialism.
>ha, postscarcity fucked you all!
stupid monkeys

doesn't go over well itt because these autists think normies will be fucked over by being materialistic about the wrong resources, and don't believe in postscarcity.

in real life both groups of autist are probably wrong about the normies and the future, but they both feel good when some clickbait author or bot tells them they're right and one day they'll have their revenge.

you guys are in fact a favored target demographic for clickbait advertising. There's a reason gold and silver are marketed 24/7 on fox news, facebook, msnbc, the poorest parts of town, etc.

I agree in premise, and I should say that I don't think China will actually takeover the west, only that they're very obviously working towards that goal.

Using silver coins at your swap meet is great, but any return to pm backed currencies would necessarily be the result of regions or states issuing minted and trusted coins. That would require a physical reserve or access to mines to accomplish at that regional or state level. I think it could happen in areas, and good on anyone who's idealistic enough to try to create a local pm market with their own stash, but I don't think those actions themselves could be compounded enough to create a national alternative monetary system, simply because there's not enough PMs in private ownership to go around. I'm strangely more optimistic that some of the extraneous financial burdens of modern life might be resolved by a necessary insular change in American lifestyle, and technological advancements. That sounds crazy, but I don't think we're far off from new energy sources that are free or close to it, and more importantly, cannot be monopolized due to localized manufacturer. That is the real killer to the Jew, or dragon families, or oil rich Arabs strangleholds on our lives. With that said I'm holding onto my PMs for as long as possible, but I won't argue with anyone who wants to spend theirs or shit on their idealism.

don't believe me, just buy some jewelry retail and then take it to a pawn shop to sell. You'll lose well over half your money in a matter of minutes.

But if you're rich, or at least stable enough to hold for years or decades, they're not going to make much money off you.

3 points here

LCS doesn't mostly sell bullion, we mostly sell coins. Bullion has a very low markup, coins have a very high one. So gauging where an LCS makes their money is impossible if you think that bullion is the better part of it. It is not. Most of the profit comes from the sale of relatively cheap collector coins and holders and stuff.

next is the fact that "most of their money" doesn't necessarily equal "most of their profits."
My richest clients tend to make me my smallest profits by percent. The make most of my GROSS REVENUES, but not most of my profits.

lastly, pareto principle. 80% of our profits come from 20% of our clients. If you own a liquor store, that means alcoholics. If you own a coin store, that means mid to low tier collectors. If you own a pawn shop, that means poor people.

I don't understand what you're trying to argue. Jews didn't have a country to protect prior to 80 years ago when they were getting kicked out of the Caribbeans or their slaves were slaughtering them all over central America, but if you're implying that the chinks trying to copy Jews means that they would be willing to absorb us citizens for labor into China, just look at emmigrating to Isreal sometime. You have to take a blood test and prove Jewish lineage and they don't really want you if you're unskilled. Sometimes they reluctantly accept non Jew immigrants and sterilize them. Sometimes they let "lesser" races of children in as servants or sexual slaves for the connected jews. They're not stupid enough to allow foreigners in. Hell, they're genociding the indigenous peoples there right at this moment lol.

China isn't planning on flooding their country with American labor, and if they did take over the US somehow, they would likely leave the labor and manufacturing in place. Like all countries, they would love to snatch the talent away, and God knows they do that now, but not the labor/skilled manufacturing that's based closer to raw materials/existing infrastructure etc ...that's just stupid.

Very true in a sense, from the low level nigger thief trying to buy their bonds with gold chains when they get incarcerated up to the top of the ladder with central banksters, all criminals love gold. But i'd also add
>on a long enough timeline, your government will always see you as a criminal
because they create always more laws and regulations, partly to keep themselves in power, partly to justify their own existence they must always produce more. And since they don't produce anything of value, they just produce more pain in the ass.

I never stole anything, never intentionally done harm to people who didn't harm me first, never killed needlessly an animal. I consider myself a relatively moral person. Yet i'm probably considered a criminal on many levels by my gubment because i don't like paperwork and want to live on my own terms.

And living on my own terms imply i also refuse to be held hostage by a currency system designed to rob me blind of my savings until nothing remain.
Even if all you say is true, it doesn't offer any alternative, while if i stack gold i have one.

everyone is a criminal if you look at them closely enough. but you understood what I meant with the gold chains and buying bonds.

criminals of an obvious sort love gold, and often wind up buying at a loss and then selling at a loss a short time later. This is the kind of use that makes buyers and sellers the most money. Buy jewelry one day, sell it again a week later, you're gonna lose a fortune. And that fortune goes to the dealers.

when that happens it's just a legal tax on criminals.

but pawn shops are only half the equation. The other half is the original seller. If they're a jeweler or coin shop, they also make most of their money off poor people and criminals.

bullion dealers are a different story. They get most of their money from rich people.

Agreed, if your point is to warn anons about being smart about their PMs purchases i'm 100% with you. As for anything, it's up to the buyer to figure out where the value lies, and to avoid giving half their money to middlemen. It seems lot of anons ended up buying more big premioom stuff lately (koora, pez, star wars slop, etc...), probably to cheat boredom after they thought they already secured enough "basic" PMs. And even if it can sometimes pay off short term, just like you, i don't think it's a viable strategy long term. We have countless examples of this. Anons should always prioritize weight, even if it's boring.

But i don't think it's necessary to conflate "local grifting mechanisms" with PMs as a whole. Because at that point, you can't buy anything. Not long ago, to entertain a bit IQDELET and his imaginary premiums rates, i've posted the % difference between commodities sold on the markets at spot VS what you pay in your grocery store. And we talk about +400% on everything here : sugar, flour, milk, ham, wood, coal,..
Compared to this, the tiny 5-10% we pay up on G&S seems like a steal, really.

I'm losing myself a bit here, but what i'm trying to say is there is no perfect solution, but you can't not act at all either way. My dad never invested in anything, always kept all his cash on his bank accounts.
He had 200K on his main account back in 2003. He still have 200K now. Problem is now his 200K can barely buy 1/5th of what he could have bought back then. Effectively, he got robbed of 80% of his savings.
If he spent his 200K in gold back then, he would have 666oz of gold. Now worth 1.3M.

Would you really want anons here to face the same fate?

not at all. Cash is terrible to hold. But buying metals and selling them before the break-even point would be worse than holding cash.

I'm not sure what the break even point is on metals. It depends on the premium paid and the price action of the metal and decline of the dollar.
In houses in the US the break even point on a 30 year fixed mortgage is currently 13+ years, so if a person is planning on moving within 13 years of buying a house, they'd be better off renting.

in metals there is some similar break even point where it beats holding cash. I'd guess in most cases it's several years, but a lot less if a person buys bulk and gets cheap metals. But that would be good info to have so a person doesn't take a huge loss if they have to sell. Though as our confused friend points out, the losses are much bigger on cars or diamonds or power tools or electronics or other stuff a person might be forced to sell.

basically just know the break-even point on metals, and try to never be in a situation where you HAVE to sell them. But even selling metal at a small loss is probably better than holding cash right now.

Why couldn't i compare a commodity with another commodity who both have a spot price on the markets?
Because of high turnover due to limited shelves life? Is that why you think i can't compare to milk?

For milk they mostly sell UHT (ultra high temp°) in stores (like 90% of our milk), which stores can keep sealed for up to 4 months on shelves. So the rapid turnover isn't an especially valid argument.
Sugar and flour are treated to not degrade in a dry environment, stores can keep them sealed literally for years and they don't even bother with an expiration date, and they sell so much of it, expiration dates wouldn't change much.

And what about wood and coal? Why do we pay premiums in the hundreds percents range for those? Sure they take up space and logistic is a big chunk of the cost, but they aren't perishable, so why can't i compare them to gold and silver?

What 40% premium, IQ?
All i see is silver selling for $2/oz over spot... That's less than 10%.

a user so nefarious his name can't even be mentioned. A user that singlehandedly engineered the silver squeeze, was directly responsible for the creation of WSS, and almost memed the Bayhorse Mine into the history books.

he took /pmg/ strategies of stacking silver to topple the dollar and brought them to /pol/. I believe he may have started the "silver ends the fed" threads that IQDELET bitches about so frequently.
Not finding a broad enough audience on /pol/ and realizing he needed to recruit a much larger batch of silver hoarders, he and his band of discord brethren then took /pmg/ to plebbit. They were so successful there that they boosted the spot price of silver 30% for a period of 2 weeks, making global headlines and pulling off the biggest silver squeeze since the Hunt brothers.
Unfortunately silver went flat and then started to drop after that. Costing thousands of stackers millions of dollars. Probably hundreds of millions.
Even more unfortunately, this action forced the premiums on silver through the roof, costing stackers even more money. A situation that is only now finally starting to go back to normal. Another point IQDELET loves to harp on.

but his biggest "sin" was pumping a small silver mine in the hopes that pouring cash into their coffers would encourage their wild success and make everyone here wealthy beyond their dreams.
dozens bought into this effort, and almost every one of them lost their money. Often thousands of dollars, sometimes tens of thousands. Many of those people that lost money on his scheme are still here. And they are not happy with him.

But whether for good or for bad, he was by far the largest fish in this little pond. A mover and shaker that got things done. A maker of history, shaping global markets to his will for weeks anyways, if not permanently. And once a person experiences that sort of notoriety, they might indeed be loath to leave. Such a person as that might just stick around and drop truth bombs on the thread. Or lies. Or basically anything to still participate in a thread they love, but nearly universally hates them.

Maybe he was doing a lot of drugs. Maybe the stress was causing him to legit melt down. Not sure what was going on. But he shit the bed with a couple of those posts. Lassen was tearing into him pretty hard, and he was losing friends fast. Him going after Red Wolf for selling was off-putting.

a 30% gain in the global price of silver represents tens of billions of dollars gained and lost.

It worked, but not in the way we might have expected or still think now.

it didn't work because we cornered the physical silver market. It worked because the GME squeeze had just happened with impressive success, so investors thought we would also pull it off with silver.

basically the internets moved sentiment to raise the price, not actual metal. But it worked well enough to worry the banks and probably a couple governments.

Yeah, I never got the impression that he was interested in scamming anons or grooming baggies for exit liquidity, he had at least £200,000 in BHS and likely quite more so even if all the PMGpoors here were convinced to submit orders it wouldn't have been enough for him to dump. I honestly with everyone had listened to red and the other anon that managed to sell the top. That was the other reason I believed SMA was innocent... he was attacking Red hard when he sold the top. It doesn't hurt to diversify, if you can afford it. Platinum is being used in various chemotherapy treatments and has potential in hydrogen fuel cells as well. It's a gamble for me but one I was willing to take. I also bought it on it's cheapest day during the covid crash so I've been sitting nicely with it during all this time.

Right now, Pd and Pt are priced at the low end of their ranges, making their acquisition for curiosity 'affordable.' As investments, they're somewhat on the safer side. Rh had an insane rise to $30k for a couple of months, but whether anything like that will happen again is anyone's guess.

>but DELET's approach isn't as effective at goading anons into revealing interesting insights into their mindsets and motivations which you seem to enjoy flushing out.
I was actually working on a project that involved learning how people think, so yeah I took an interest. That project is done though, it's been done for years. I no longer seek that sort of information because I got what I needed. I think I have a pretty fair understanding of how /pmg/ thinks in general, and what facts rile them up. I don't like much this kind of coercitive practices.

I didn't paid much attention before now about 0 evaluations accounts, but i've been burn twice not long ago. And the two sales from today are for happy windmills sold to arab names (seems like the fire is rising lol). It's acceptable only once you secured a fat stack of lowest premium stuff.
And it's important you make the difference between collectibles and (((collectibles))). The former comes from genuine and long lasting demand for coins who weren't designed to be collectibles, i.e. coins with sovl.
The latter are just cash grab made by greedy mints who try to surf over whatever last fad of the moment can bring some attention, literally metalslop. Those may rise a bit short term while this is considered "trendy", but will almost always fade away. Do you see anyone interested with 80-90s TV shows or Reagan/Clinton/Bush coins? No. So this will be the same for the countless Trump/Griffin/Star Wars/007/... slop the mints are sharting out as "limited edition" by the millions.
And back in the 80-90s it wasn't really a thing, now it's absurd how many "collector" editions are made on a weekly basis.
Don't fall for this shit. If you want to collect coins, you go for Roman denarius, Byzantine empire follis, Greek drachms, medieval groat, colonial florins, whatever stuff with true scarcity and history who float your boat.

Gold and silver are fucking worthless. They have literally dumped 90% accounting for fees and inflation and won't stop any time soon. The thing about silver is that there's more than 100x as much in the ground as there is gold (which is also worthless), and its "industrial uses" are massively overrated because copper outclasses it for any conceivable use.

PMs are going to zero, you'll be able to get it for free off of craigslist soon enough if you're willing to go clean it out of dejected stackers' houses and transport it away. Furthermore, asteroid mining operations will be up and running by 2030 and they will QUADRUPLE the supply of gold.

Silver will never be real money. It has no utility, no anonymity, does not store intrinsic value. Its are a FED psyop twisted by FOMO, FUD and negative real interest rates into a crude mockery of paper $ perfection.

All the “mooning” it does is unsustainable and half-hearted. Behind your back people short silver and sell paper copies ( first silver certificates now SLV). Silver investors despite being broke losers are disgusted and ashamed of it and its “promoters” laugh at the ghoulish npc shillbots behind closed doors.

Peter Schiff despite making billions from premium grabbing is utterly repulsed by silver. Thousands of years of history have allowed Schiff to profit from its sale with incredible efficiency. Even silver shitcoins that “have memes” imprinted on them look useless and unnatural to Schiff. Silvers lack of a use case is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a bot operator to “shill” silver for you, he’ll turn tail and dump his bags the second he gets a whiff of your diseased, infected volatility.

Silver will never be widely adopted in transactions. Silver will wrench out a fake pump every few months and you tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel silvers fraudulent nature growing more obvious, ready to dissolve you into millenial tears.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - silver will get dumped, replaced by copper, wiped out by asteroid mining or a wooden nickel. Its owners will regret buying it, heartbroken and ashamed that they must pimp out boomer rocks for food. They’ll be moved into a pod marked with a Disney logo, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a silver stacker is stored there. Silvers “value” will decay against inflation, go back to the dust, and all that will remain of its legacy are some memes that are unmistakably inorganic.

This is silvers fate. This is what the Hunt brothers chose. There is no turning backl

Yeah, thankfully I haven't had many problems with new 0-feedback ebay buyers, but I don't sell much stuff in categories with high rates of buyer fraud.

Very good, if you haven't been selling them I would be interested in seeing a picture of your pile of old Belgian silver, having a nice pile with a bunch of based buck-breaker of the Belgian Congo Leopold II coins would be quite nice.

>it's important you make the difference between collectibles and (((collectibles))). The former comes from genuine and long lasting demand for coins who weren't designed to be collectibles, i.e. coins with sovl. The latter are just cash grab, literally metalslop.
>Don't fall for this shit. If you want to collect coins, you go for Roman denarius, Byzantine empire follis, Greek drachms, medieval groat, colonial florins, whatever stuff with true scarcity and history who float your boat.

Couldn't agree more. There is definitely some money to be made short-term from scalping then flipping some of the currently popular limited releases, but the health and strength of the pool of people who consume modern collectibles fluctuates so they are unreliable long-term investments. All it takes for values to plummet is a cohort of collectors to lose interest and cash out or start dying and have their collections liquidated faster than the remaining pool of interested collectors can absorb the glut, it is an almost universal process we've seen repeated countless times.

Silver isn't an investment, it is a store of value. You park some of your wealth there so it doesn't evaporate away from inflation. How do you not understand what people mean when they say this?
That image is not comparing dollars to silver. It is comparing corvettes to silver and corvettes to dollars to show you which one resists inflation.

point is you can fight inflation in much better ways than pm. the benefit of pms is having a inflation resistant "cash"/fungible liquid asset vs some other investment to fight inflation (eg. real estate, stocks etc)

the simple truth is without "trolls" as you call them, the thread dies of boredom. Anyone that's been here a few years has seen it happen.

you guys want to explain why you're right, and to do that you need people to disagree with you. Otherwise it's just a very boring circle-jerk of posting pictures of metal and congratulating each other on being /pol/tards. People get bored with it and leave. Threads 404, nobody posts new threads, the whole shit show goes off the air. It's happened before, more than once.

The problem is all of the years inbetween was growth spurned on by deficit spending and maxing out Uncle Sam's credit card. A gradre-A looting operation.
We're at the point of kicking the can before the foreclosure letter arrives. There won't be a new credit card to apply for. The debts are coming due and everyone is going to be scrambling to not be the bagholder.
It truly is amazing once you sit down and think about it. Debt based wealth where every single person in the country defers consumption by handing over their money to Wallstreet. You give up 100% of your money to chase returns because those very same banks are inflating your wealth away.
Once the wheels start coming off PMs are going to be such an obvious slam-dunk there literally won't be enough to go around. It is going to be fun times ahead for stackers.

>> No.56584821

>>56584735
the other problem is until 1975 the gubbermint fixed the price of gold at $35 and until 1965 fixed the price of silver at a bit less than a buck.

despite the fact that neither price point was accurate or meaningful since the average person wasn't allowed to own gold or melt silver coins.

we didn't see gold or silver begin to move on their own until the 70's, and at that point they both had close to 100 years of dollar decline to catch up on.

>> No.56584896

>>56584821
The U.S. economy has not grown organically since 1983. Ever since that time GDP has been increasing on the back of increases of debt and deficit spending.
The problem is that cash and credit are fungible. The problem being one needs to be repaid in cash and basically starts creating these ballooning balance sheets backed with financial paper.
All debts are paid eventually. Either you pay it back of the lender eats the loss. The inbetween move will be inflation which means that all dollar-holders will eat the losses (so long as people can tolerate the loss of purchasing power).
There really isn't a good way out of this mess. The path forward is likely going to be very hard times but ONLY if you choose to participate. You can lock in your purchasing power with physical ownership of capital such as machinery, land, commodities etc. Much of this will likely also be TAXED to help manage the fallout so be ready for that as well. Some people might even get taxed right out of their homes for all we know.

americans know all this though. That's why they use debt to purchase assets. In an inflationary environment, buying tangible assets that increase in price using debt that's steadily becoming worthless is the only possible remedy, and everyone that can is doing it.

you guys choose metals primarily as your asset. Others choose houses and cars and land and guns and whatever else they can afford, but it's all the same idea.

They use debt because their wages don't keep them above water in this hyper-financialized economy they live in. If you removed the purchasing power of credit cards from everyone's wallet overnight the whole economy would collapse. It's also a convenient way to prevent the citizenry from withdrawing cash from the vaults while generating CC fees.
All that means is there is a MASSIVE sucking sound as leverage is used to vacuum out capital straight out of the economy. For every fortune made flipping houses you have a putz sitting around toiling for 30 years to pay his off. No real economic activity just shuffling paper notes around.
Getting this economy back on track and functional is going to snap a LOT of necks.
