In fact if you look all over the world, these war games of empires are all done by banking families, we're nothing but pawns for their global expansion. Again, the way to end (or weaken) all of this is for people to leave the system, and you do that by decentralizing, setting up a detached local economy around you. Using silver coins at your swap meet is great, but any return to pm backed currencies would necessarily be the result of regions or states issuing minted and trusted coins. That would require a physical reserve or access to mines to accomplish at that regional or state level. I think it could happen in areas, and good on anyone who's idealistic enough to try to create a local pm market with their own stash, but I don't think those actions themselves could be compounded enough to create a national alternative monetary system, simply because there's not enough PMs in private ownership to go around. I'm strangely more optimistic that some of the extraneous financial burdens of modern life might be resolved by a necessary insular change in American lifestyle, and technological advancements. That sounds crazy, but I don't think we're far off from new energy sources that are free or close to it, and more importantly, cannot be monopolized due to localized manufacturer. That is the real killer to the Jew, or dragon families, or oil rich Arabs strangleholds on our lives. With that said I'm holding onto my PMs for as long as possible, but I won't argue with anyone who wants to spend theirs or shit on their idealism.

LCS doesn't mostly sell bullion, we mostly sell coins. Bullion has a very low markup, coins have a very high one. So gauging where an LCS makes their money is impossible if you think that bullion is the better part of it. It is not. Most of the profit comes from the sale of relatively cheap collector coins and holders and stuff.

next is the fact that "most of their money" doesn't necessarily equal "most of their profits."
My richest clients tend to make me my smallest profits by percent. The make most of my GROSS REVENUES, but not most of my profits.

lastly, pareto principle. 80% of our profits come from 20% of our clients. If you own a liquor store, that means alcoholics. If you own a coin store, that means mid to low tier collectors. If you own a pawn shop, that means poor people.

not at all. Cash is terrible to hold. But buying metals and selling them before the break-even point would be worse than holding cash.

I'm not sure what the break even point is on metals. It depends on the premium paid and the price action of the metal and decline of the dollar.
In houses in the US the break even point on a 30 year fixed mortgage is currently 13+ years, so if a person is planning on moving within 13 years of buying a house, they'd be better off renting.

in metals there is some similar break even point where it beats holding cash. I'd guess in most cases it's several years, but a lot less if a person buys bulk and gets cheap metals. But that would be good info to have so a person doesn't take a huge loss if they have to sell. Though as our confused friend points out, the losses are much bigger on cars or diamonds or power tools or electronics or other stuff a person might be forced to sell.

basically just know the break-even point on metals, and try to never be in a situation where you HAVE to sell them. But even selling metal at a small loss is probably better than holding cash right now.

For milk they mostly sell UHT (ultra high temp°) in stores (like 90% of our milk), which stores can keep sealed for up to 4 months on shelves. So the rapid turnover isn't an especially valid argument.
Sugar and flour are treated to not degrade in a dry environment, stores can keep them sealed literally for years and they don't even bother with an expiration date, and they sell so much of it, expiration dates wouldn't change much.

I was actually working on a project that involved learning how people think, so yeah I took an interest. That project is done though, it's been done for years. have a small platinum stack and looking at the PD chart makes me want to grab an ounce in case it ever would reach $2500+ levels again (even though i know it was only there for a short time) , and with the price coming in at around $1,150 right now and to buy 1 ounce would cost nearly $1400 which is basically the only option besides the 1g size which would cost about $85 a gram.

Couldn't agree more. There is definitely some money to be made short-term from scalping then flipping some of the currently popular limited releases, but the health and strength of the pool of people who consume modern collectibles fluctuates so they are unreliable long-term investments. All it takes for values to plummet is a cohort of collectors to lose interest and cash out or start dying and have their collections liquidated faster than the remaining pool of interested collectors can absorb the glut, it is an almost universal process we've seen repeated countless times.

We're at the point of kicking the can before the foreclosure letter arrives. There won't be a new credit card to apply for. The debts are coming due and everyone is going to be scrambling to not be the bagholder.

The U.S. economy has not grown organically since 1983. Ever since that time GDP has been increasing on the back of increases of debt and deficit spending.
The problem is that cash and credit are fungible. The problem being one needs to be repaid in cash and basically starts creating these ballooning balance sheets backed with financial paper.
All debts are paid eventually. Either you pay it back of the lender eats the loss. The inbetween move will be inflation which means that all dollar-holders will eat the losses (so long as people can tolerate the loss of purchasing power).
There really isn't a good way out of this mess. The path forward is likely going to be very hard times but ONLY if you choose to participate. You can lock in your purchasing power with physical ownership of capital such as machinery, land, commodities etc. Much of this will likely also be TAXED to help manage the fallout so be ready for that as well. Some people might even get taxed right out of their homes for all we know.

They use debt because their wages don't keep them above water in this hyper-financialized economy they live in. If you removed the purchasing power of credit cards from everyone's wallet overnight the whole economy would collapse. It's also a convenient way to prevent the citizenry from withdrawing cash from the vaults while generating CC fees.
All that means is there is a MASSIVE sucking sound as leverage is used to vacuum out capital straight out of the economy. For every fortune made flipping houses you have a putz sitting around toiling for 30 years to pay his off. No real economic activity just shuffling paper notes around.
