There was never a housing crisis. It was always just about if you deserve to live on the street or if you can pay half million for a house.

is the land the cargo container stands upon included in the sale price? i suspect it may well be. not a bad idea, really

That seems unlikely. Most micro homes cost well over 100,000 to build.

>> No.56550774

are amerimutts just allergic to building houses out of bricks or something? they either make mcmansions out of cardboard in the middle of nowhere that gets blown away by slightly strong winds or live in tiny apartments that are worse than commieblocks, you just take some bricks, put them on top of each other and you get a proper house, it's not that hard

It is just cheaper. Goes like this by order of cheap to expensive:

>OSB/particle board houses

>plywood houses with brick facade
>brick house

it's cheaper to use wood. just like it's cheaper to use spicmonkey labor. however you're still paying $50k in labor costs to manuel, pedro, juan, emilio, etc. to build your 2200 square foot goybox in 3 weeks.

How virtuous of them.
Only thing they didn't mention is that you can buy new 40ft containers from the chinks for 2-4k a pop.
That's a lot of air in the price for some cladding and electric work.

Just checked, apparently Chinks sell already insulated home containers ready to ship for anywhere between 2-7k a piece.
They're so cheap they're basically free.
There's one hell of a profit margin to sell these fuckers for 150k.

I recently rebuilt a prefab house built in 2009 and it gets so much worse than that. The walls were not even 2x4s but 2x3s, the exterior sheathing wasn't even plywood but press board (not chipboard but just pressboard like what cheap furniture is made of) and half the time an entire row of staples that was supposed to hold that press board to the 2x3 stud would have just missed the stud entirely and the staples would be holding nothing but insulation. The family got the house and land for only $45,000 because it was trash but still.
