ive been trading since 2017 and i still dont know how ethereum gas works
1 gwei = 0.000000001 eth right?
so why the fuck does my uniswap transaction cost 0.015 eth at 30 gwei?
shouldnt my gas be 0.000000030 eth?
why cant the future of finance actually have a straight forward tx fee?
make this make sense

30 gwei per unit of gas. each instruction in a contract costs a certain number of units of gas. you pay for running all those instructions

"future of finance" lmao yeah fucking right good luck scaling with L2s without shitting the bed and getting anally raped by the SEC.
Layer 2s are not a sustainable way of scaling. True scalability comes from consensus, and Ethereum's classical consensus is already past its limit (which is why we see a new copypasted L2 every now and then, and this will keep on happening until the whole blockchain implodes).
Avalanche is Ethereum 3.0, DYOR.

The amount ETH gas fees you pay are the amount Vitalik feels having that day
