I went on my first vacation ever in 2020. Peak covid hysteria. It was great. I booked a hotel for a week at $470. Room was really nice because the covid discount. I was basically the only person at the hotel, it was so dead. When I left they charged me $470 again despite already having paid for the hotel through priceline. I was supposed to have a voucher to cover the hotel. I called the cc company and they confirmed that the hotel had double charged me. So they redunded me the money. A few weeks later the hotel called and admitted their mistake. If I had paid with debit card I would have needed to wait for the hotel to correct their error. So I got my money back quicker and with less headache.
