That works if you're willing to manage it. As long as you're effectively flat that's all that matters. It's not that the 200 day moving average is the perfect strategy, it's a good enough strategy that will help you avoid the fat tails holding leveraged ETFs subject you too. If you want to use puts or inverse ETFs or futures contracts, or whatever else to get flat when the strategy says get flat then it's fine. The key with trend following is have a strategy with positive expectancy that avoids fat tails and that you are willing to be consistent with. Every time an anon finds a trend strategy that he likes and goes gung ho on it always comes down to the moment of truth of will you actually execute the trade. That time is almost certainly tomorrow morning for this round. Consistency and follow through are much more important than whether you sell or use puts

There's a big problem with inheritance in the modern world where the elderly live to 80-90+. By the time an inheritance is passed down, the inheritor is often in their 60s.
Inheriting money in your 60s is fairly useless if you've already been saving properly towards retirement, so the money ends up sitting around useless for another generation, in repetition into eternity.
In this sense, there's a massive pool of "wealth" in the world that may as well not exist. There is a huge medical industrial complex that's been making every attempt possible to siphon this slush money, but there are better options.

If you want a good inheritance at a time in life where it may offer meaningful benefit, you should teach your parents/grandparents the concept of dying with zero. Convince them to give you a tax free gift, today.
