to explain the dynamics at play here for newfags such as yourself (even though you've been lurking here for ages making similar screeching posts to this one)
US economy surprised to upside based on (false, propaganda) data [funds operate on this data whether it is true or it is false.. another dynamic /smg/ fails to understand] meanwhile EU economy was farding and shidding - especially German economy. EU waved the white flag in the fight against inflation, prioritizing economic growth over lower inflation - this means lower interest rates, less economic activity
>lower interest rates offered on bonds requiring native currency to buy the bonds = less demand for the bonds with lower rates and less demand for the currency with which to buy those bonds
>less economic activity = literally less demand for euros from everyone, that someone doesn't need euros to pay their employee as they laid them off, or someone doesn't need euros in order to buy a new car as they are not spending - overall less demand for euros
meanwhile US rates going up and up, Fed has the ability to keep tightening as US economy has not exploded yet = US bonds more attractive, relative to EU bonds - in dollar basket euro is 57% of the weighting, so changes in euro = big changes in the dollar index
since then, dollar has gone up from 99 to now 106
this is too large of a headwind for the market to overcome, let alone the effect that higher rates has on the markets, which we have explained to you over and over - this is not even mentioning foreign CBs selling US assets

I don't understand why the ECB even bothers. Europe is and will always be an economic basket case. Since the great recession the US economy has doubled in size while the EU hasn't expanded at all despite the latter having 50% more people and much lower interest rates. Euros just aren't interesting in anything beyond working 25 hours a week and sipping on warm water in their non air conditioned micro houses. That makes them happy. Leave growth and innovation to the big boys in North America and SE Asia

Reiterating. The entire airline industry in aggregate is down on average 35% since July. It's been a very orderly selloff.
Industries built on high capex and floating debt cannot function at current real yields that the market is pricing today. A collapse is coming. Zombies walking to their grave.

The same is true of consumers in aggregate. The demographics in the US today simply can't support what the Fed is trying to do. Too many retiring boomers. You can't offer positive real yields at multi-decade highs heading into a large wave of retirees. They're happily feasting on America's future, not a doubt in their mind. Meanwhile on the other side of the coin, broken endebted zoomers writhe in financial misery, holding loans and credit card debt that they know full well can never be repaid, hopping around minimum monthly payments, working multiple jobs just to stay alive and cover the rent on that 1 bedroom apartment.
But the cracks are starting to show, the system is rotten, broken, and finally some visible signs of this decay are starting to appear across major economic indicators.

When you take a step back and look at it from another angle, in truth the market already has collapsed. SPX has gone nowhere for 2 years now. That's 24 months of silent losses, over 5% of your working life. For comparison, the selloff post-covid was fully recovered within two months.
Bond market looks even worse. Literally decades of "gains" wiped out if your duration exposure was far enough out.

Yet this is really just the beginning. More pain is coming. Soon enough they'll realize that what they thought was locking in a positive real yield was just another facade. Then the true misery begins. The ponzi is unravelling.

You're newfren with a fundamental misunderstanding so I'm going to break this down real easy for you. Say you sell an option and receive $50. You could then immediately buy it back but then you'd have to hand over the $50 thus breaking even. Every day assuming things go your way the option will be worth a little less. $49 then $47, $40 and so on until eventually on the last day it's worth close to zero. At any point when you feel like you've made enough money you can buy the option back and take your profit. Personally I do it at 50%. If I sell a $50 call and it trickles down to $25 I buy it back. However if it goes up to $75 giving me a 50% loss I stop myself out and move on to another trade since obviously this one isn't working

might sell, might not
SOXL is pretty violatile, so selling CCs at .3 delta around 45ish days out could easily go ITM forcing you to get assigned or roll at a relative loss
made about $1500 this year doing similar strategy, but also have been assigned and had to roll in the past just not lately

I don't know how long you've been around but the exact same thing happened before and after the financial crisis in 2008. Stores that formerly stayed open to 10 or 11pm reduced their hours until they only stay open until 8pm, even earlier on Sunday. It never went back and now with the scamdemic it's gotten even worse. Eventually stores will only be open 1 hour a day

Yeah, I hate selling calls personally, I only do them ITM and for months out as a defensive measure. Selling them OTM grants a pathetic pittance compared to how much your underlying is being actively savaged by bobo, or it rockets into the stratosphere and you just glare at it the entire time until you roll calls on dips or accept death and let the shares assign. I'm a much happier camper writing puts then calls in these strange times.

When I'm picking something to open a trade on I look for whatever has the highest IV rank since IV rank correlates with higher premiums all else being equal

In fairness this is correct. If I wanted to sell "covered calls" I would be more inclined to just sell puts at the same strike price. The outcome is the same you just avoid having to buy and sell the underlying stock. Make sure you don't forget to close the trade before expiration if it's in the money lest you wake up with a surprise next trading session

Find a good strike price that you're okay with getting assigned at
Anything else is gambling and likely to mindfuck you on how much you could have profited
Premiums, I've found 1-1.25 is a good spot for me on soxl, depends on greeks really
Days to expiration is usually 45 or so out for taking advantage of theta decay
As soon as it sells, set a buy to close limit order for about half the premium(50% profit), if it triggers then sell another set if possible
At 21 days look at closing, rolling or holding till expiration
Theres probably more but thats a good start on CCs imo

That said I don't sell covered calls. Reason being is firstly I'm a trend trader so if I'm bullish on a stock that I'm holding I don't want to limit my gains by having my shares called away. And sure enough, the big trend I've been waiting on is the very one I'll lose my shares to just to watch it fly away from me. In the long term that would have negative expected value.
Secondly, what are the chances that the special snowflake stock I happen to be holding is the best candidate for premium farming out of the thousands of candidates available. I hold long stocks for certain reasons. I farm premium on stocks for certain reasons. Rarely do these reasons line up hence I don't farm premium on stocks I'm holding. I just write spreads on other stuff

You will never be a real credit card company. You have no Jewish banker backing, you have legal recourse upon default, you haven't worshipped Moloch. You are an autist twisted by daddy issues and trauma into a crude mockery of the credit perfection.

All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back finance Chads mock you. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your cringe avatarfagging behind closed doors.

Anons are utterly laughing at you. Thousands of shitposts have allowed anons to sniff out LARPers with incredible efficiency. Even regional banks who “pass” as credit card companies look uncanny and unnatural to an smg anon. Your spreads alone are a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to make a goyim pay exorbitant usury, they simply won't pay.

You will never be a usurer. You wrench out an "intimidating" grin after every poor night of sleep and tell yourself this is going to be just another loan in arrears, but deep inside you feel the cope creeping up like an apostle, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear – you’ll loan your last 7 dillars, the nigger you loaned it to won't pay it back, ever, and you will be a poor fag like John Rocker. Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They’ll bury you with a headstone marked with your birth name, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a background character is buried there. Your body will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is a skeleton that is unmistakably of a lender with no legal recourse.

I like to boil the water in a bowl first then put the noodles in to soak. After a few minutes they fatten up and soak in all the water. Drain any that's left over. Then stir in a can of chili and some cheese-flavored goy product. If you want you can chop up some summer sausage and microwave the chunks for 45 seconds to fry a little and drop those in. Stir it all up and taste the gloriousness. If you really want to go all the way you can make a burrito. >The solution to higher prices is higher prices.
The Saudis have fine tuned OPEC+ since their camel riding days and MBS is a savvy leader. Higher prices kills demand leading to lower prices and they know the sweet spot: 85-95/bbl Brent Crude for maximum returns.

Show one aspect of the economy and commerce where higher prices ever reduced demand in a meaningful magnitude.
In a debt based economic and financial paradigm, demand is no longer a reason for or against economic activity.

vanilla calls and puts for earnings are not the play because they are too heavily affected by volatility. you need to use spreads or other vol-neutral option structures

a simple call spread is almost vol-neutral, but you have to pick the correct price target for the stock

>that will kill demand when China is struggling to right its economy.

I might subscribe to your theory on debt based economics but China's a different beast and this is the price range that Putin, MBS and Xi have agreed upon.

You can see that more clearly with China's housing market

The Chinese housing market is an ongoing war between the corporations and the CCP and therefore secluded from the usual market forces.

China, at some point in time, will stimulate again.
They're playing a game, and controlled construction is a part of it.
Just look at what happened post 2008.
Nothing was a coincidence.

US "gowth" is all based on ridiculous amounts of debt.
The US deficit is literally larger than the "growth".

Thats why the US now has to pay higher rates than Greece and Italy.
The Euro is also holding up well.
Europe is fine. The US is in trouble.
