Fees associated with silver are a pretty serious cost to take meaningful steps to avoid. Although it could be risky and take longer to do ACH to buy metals, those savings add up to literal hours of work depending on how much you buy. Comparing prices of 100 ounce bar between APMEX and SD or something between the Wire transfer and CC payment it can be as large as an entire day of your life working 8 hours being lost to fees. 8 hours is 20% of a 40 hour work week and that value spent gives you zero exposure to the price of the investment.

If silver went to $670 <ROFL> you would be even with boomers who invested in the DJIA. <lmao>

But you won't sell because it's your whole life you will be a broke loser unless silver went to $100,000 and you could buy a virgin for 10 cents. Lmao that's what you were promised and what you believe.

If you're new to SETF Threads please seriously consider that these threads are made by greedy silver merchants who want to sell you millennial rocks at 232% premiums. If something big is going to be happening, YOU WILL BE THE LAST TO KNOW. Only spend what you want to donate to your enemies! DO NOT BUY SILVER! Do not buy silver. DO NOT PANIC BUY SILVER! This is how you get ripped off. The first rule of silver stacking is do not buy silver. So what are these scammers doing? Telling everyone day after day about their stacks and to buy silver. Do they have anything to gain by recruiting more stackers? Yes they can sell you $100 of silver for $698 and then buy it back for 43 cents. If silver was such a good deal would they really be telling everyone?

depends on the coin and how long you plan on holding it, but usually no. Modern bullion coins in particular are made by the millions, and often millions of them get graded right out of the box. So in those cases it's not always a great deal.

hard to say for sure though. Some modern slabbed stuff has done a 3-5x in a matter of a couple years if people love it enough. Usually rarer stuff with a great design.

Not the geology bro but I’m the other anon into rocks lmao. If you’re really trying to flex go with Alexandrite it’s super rare and actually changes colors depending on the lighting. A good stone, full luster, clear, and FULL color shifting from blue to red to purple, should cost around $5k/ct. Incredibly rare gemstone, the earth simply did not make a lot of it.

Tanzanite is beautiful, as are natural blue topaz, both are good alternatives. When buying stones, especially for jewelry, always specify NO heat treatment. Blue diamonds are also an option, but personally plain carbon is boring to me and it’s not the rarest stone out there even. Use diamond to beat accent color. Low end of the blue colors might be particular amethysts, but they just tend to lean purple.

They have some sets online with a furnace, crucibles, tongs, etc. that go for like $3-500 depending on the size. That was at a quick glance tho, I want to avoid chink shit so that it doesn’t explode on me, so I’d have to explore brands and sizes more. But like I said it would be more of a learning experience and hobby than it would be a money making endeavor.

Is there much of a resale market on the fractional gold pandas with collectors trying to complete date sets?

>> No.56421297

>>56421231
Pandas have pretty serious premiums. I’ve been able to only get a decent deal once at a PM shop where I got a variety of dates for around 29-30$ each but I have no idea why. Boomer shop owner, maybe. Pandas and libertads are some of the few coins I stack yearly because of this. I used to do kooks as well but I hate the King so that’s kinda stopped.

They’d be better if they went back to the vintage style obverse. I’d love a 5oz proof in that style.

Do we have concrete information about that, or is this just assumed?

Definitely, yes. Just look at their prices on APMEX (the have the best selection of pandas in the US). Also, my LCS always prices pandas with a pretty high premium (both for silver and the gold). If I were to sell a fractional gold panda to either, I'd expect to get more than the same weight of say a gold eagle. Just look at picrel how the 2006 1/10 oz cost more than a number of 1/4 or 8g coins. Fortunately, I'm not that autistic in my panda stacking that I have to have everything, so I tend to just get whatever I can find for a normal panda price.

As a stacker, I struggle buying jewelry, but I want to get my wife something nice - a necklace or pendant with each of our kids' birthstone.
Anyone have a recommendation of a US seller?

Don't forget that these are "i wish to sell at that price" prices.
If you want to see real prices you have to look at what shops are willing to drop for offered coins. Usually it's just a bit over spot, so to them the coin is worthless. A low spread, high price coin is rare, but worth looking into.

Look around your area for small family jewelers, whatever you do, don't go to a big chain, they usually gouge.

Yeah but it doesn't look like he bought a set. You can buy those fancy boxes alone for 20 euros. Then you just buy the coins whenever you can find them at a decent price. Which granted is kinda hard to do with very old years.
I didn't buy any boxes, and I have lots of trouble finding old coins, so I don't. I just buy whatever coins I can find without spending tons of money. So I've only got like 5 kooks and elephants, all from recent years. Oh and 3 pandas.

I hate everything about this imageboard format that makes it so easy for cunts to flood a thread and make conversations tedious. It's like it was designed precisely for that purpose. We were way better off with Usenet or even FidoNet.

Yes, anon, I posted the retail prices of a variety of items. I'm aware of the economics of buying and selling things for profit, and I assume others here understand this too. The rest of your post is a bit overly simplistic though, but you're getting the general idea.
