The latest it can be approved is by Jan 14 because of some fiscal deadlines at Blackrock but undoubtedly the news is already getting priced in. There will be no news to "sell off" from; ETF official approval will cause cataclismic parabolic gains: what your seeing now is institutions bumrushing to buy small volumes to keep the prices low and accumulate before the actual approval is announced
