Its honestly the best decision I ever made. Even if you dont want to be a software engineer theres a shit ton you can do with it for your own personal benefit. Everything crypto related has an api you can use to track prices and news and make informed investment decisions based on. You even have fucking chatgpt that can make you write code like a wizard even if you only have the experience of a beginner. Its kind of like playing an instrument only it enables you to use a computer in a way that allows you to not have to rely on some random weirdo to write an app for you to use. Again with chatgpt you can write insane production level code in the fraction of the time you would have needed back in the day. If you have even an ounce of creativity you would be begging to learn how to code. Also I know this is going to piss hella people off but Python is all you need unless you want to do something hella niche, no fuck you seriously and the amount of shit you can do with just a line or two is insane
