Except AI still hasn't replaced juniors at all. You can't get AI to make anything of real substance. Not even close.
So why aren't juniors being hired? Leadership is cutting costs to shore up short term prices so they can make their exit. You only need junior devs during expansion and to ensure stability in the future. Tech isn't expanding, and any plans which go beyond a quarter or two are laughable.
