Are you a better investor than Burt Reynolds?
>By his own estimation, at the peak of his career Burt's net worth topped $60 million. That's $60 million after taxes in the 1980s. That's the same as around $150 million today after adjusting for inflation," the site reports.
>The man was living large, and thanks to his hit projects and endorsement deals, he was bringing home a ton of money on a regular basis.
>Reynolds not only made a ton of money, but he also spent it, too. The man was larger than life, both in front of the cameras, and at home with his riches.
>$60 million is an incredible amount of money for any person to have, but as we will soon learn, this number dropped considerably over time.
>"He didn't just buy one mansion in Beverly Hills, he bought several. He built a massive water-front estate in Florida. He bought a 160-acre ranch, also in Florida, where he kept a stable of 150 horses. He bought a mansion in Georgia. He had a private jet and a helicopter to take him back and forth to the private jet. When he married actress Loni Anderson in 1988, he didn't just move them into one of the mansions he already owned in Beverly Hills, he bought an entirely new mansion for them to live in," Celebrity Net Worth writes.
>Not only was the actor shelling out a fortune for his lifestyle, but he also sank money into business ventures that failed. At one point, Burt and his partner's decisions "turned it into a $20-30 million loss," per the site.
>Reynolds would also foolishly borrow millions for a show with the hope of cashing in once it reached syndication. It didn't.
>Throw in a massive divorce, and suddenly, it's easy to see why Reynolds was reeling financially in the 1990s. In his bankruptcy filing, Reynolds owed over $11 million total, with nearly $4 million owed to CBS for his ill-fated show that never hit syndication.

Use a spread buy a put and sell another put. You can sell the spread for the difference (your gains are capped but so are your losses)

If you have enough time you btc your sto put(s) when it’s cheap (they pump or bull trap and you can buy your puts that you sold initially to make it a naked out again.

Takes some nuance but you can do great with it and it’s usually cheaper. I like spreads you can also make money when we are in perm-crab mode.

I absolutely do not understand any basic trading information, I am completely stuck, I cannot even comprehend even the most minute problems mentally, or on paper. I have been tormented for this personal attribute my entire life. It is actually is physically painful for me to try and comprehend mathematical concepts for more than a few moments. I am desperately searching for an intuitive way to trade, because lets be honest I'm here on biz, I am extremely desperate and need a way of making good money using a legitimate method. Cant wage, I am extremely quick to aggression with authority specifically when they are an authority in charge of my financial freedom, I quit jobs before I snap so that no one gets seriously hurt. lol I am the same way but for grammar. I get a brain freeze as soon as literary people talk about languages.

Anyway, you cant make it in trading if you really struggle with basic maths. The best way for you to invest is holding safe assets for your retirement, ie american & european public debt, which is at a discount entry price now, ie DCA into debt ETFs like TLT or even better just buy directly the american bonds AND you have to hold until maturity, ie 10 or 20 or 30 years.

The only drawback to holding public bonds to maturity is that you will never get very rich with this. This method is for avoiding getting poor only.

To get rich you really have to speculate, on the price of bonds, stocks and so on and the first method is really to stick to the 60% speculation, 40% holding safe bonds to maturity.

If you want more speculation you can daytrade and you have the usual tools like moving average and RSI. LIke here
https://youtu.be/Kv8xhZsETlM
https://youtu.be/oXTRsPgIPAo

You can follow those two and plenty others. This stuff works BUT
-you have to stick to a high time frame, like 30min minimum, daily and weekly charts are way better
-you have to accept you can't predict prices, so all your method will be statistical, ie you go from one trade to the next and you drop a trade as soon as it doesn't work

That's it, it's the secret of trading. literally cutting your loses and moving on to the next trade and taking partial profits all the time. Trading is not really about tools, but way more about psychology.

I was in extracurricular mathematical tutoring for my entire childhood, and was hounded and bullied by my lowest level mathematics teacher in high school. I was so fucking depressed at the fact that I couldn't understand basic Pythagorean concepts because I was simultaneously entranced by the concept that mathematics can potentially explain any given situation. The fucking funny thing is I actually use the Fibonacci sequence to make music based on a 1.618 division of a songs runtime length to calculate where every track of a song belongs in a natural order so as to compel the listeners association of emotion x time passed. And even then I do not completely understand exactly what I am doing other than a compelling sense of intuition.

Look at pic related. This is the updated chart, from the one I posted to you yesterday - it is only going up. They were/are buying. Something broke, and they were forced to (silently) sharply boost liquidity.

>purple line = foreign central bank liquidity

Injection after injection after injection - something big broke. We just haven't heard about it yet.
They are desperate. And you know what's wild? Even with them sharply boosting liquidity, not only the Fed, but foreign central banks, bonds are STILL selling off extremely hard worldwide

Not really. Math is pretty limited, even Philosophy as a whole has more limitations than people like to think but the domain of math is pretty narrow. It's been extremely effective for a few things to the degree that it's revolutionized the way most people live and work but that doesn't mean it applies to everything.

Usually things go poorly when people try to use math to understand religion for example.

But I thought stock prices where dependent on the market. So them handing out dividends were a bonus, not something that should affect the stock price at all.

Anyways, then what is the point of buying oil and gas stocks?
It sounds like they'd try to remain too stable. Stocks go down? THey just hand out massive dividends. Stocks go up? They decrease dividends.

I'm not attacking you. But you won't generate any alpha here. This is literally a thread for bull/bear memes. Some people answer the more in depth questions about options like myself. But in general most people would benefit from maxing their roth 401k, then their roth IRA, and then adding money to their individual account in that order. QQQ, VUG, and growth based ETFs will have the advantage long term. Good luck anon.

Basically if a company is not growing but is still massively profitable they have the option of paying dividends to attract investors to buy and hold the stock. So oil is massively profitable but not growing so they pay out massive dividends - sometimes up to 5% of the price of the stock. So if you hold $100 worth of their stock, every year they will give you $5 just for holding it. If the stock goes up in price, that's a nice bonus. Generally you will make more money holding growth stocks like tech and dividend investing is good for people who have a lot of money already and are looking to reduce volitatly and increase cash flow. And yes, if stock goes down they can increase dividends to attract investors

yeah of course, a lot of analyses/research packets centered just around EUR/USD, analyzing bonds / economies / flows / positioning long/short (number of contracts, when entered, currency options / currency option analysis)
a lot of it isn't accessible to retail traders, but if you follow the right people, many of them will be posting snippets from these packets - either on twitter, youtube, seekingalpha, etc.
it also is how funds are able to justify their actions - it's more so done just for CYA (cover your ass) that you 'did the research' and paid a lot of money for that research, so that they can't get sued

Buddy. We are literally facing systemic collapse. I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation we are in. Either you just started lurking, just started paying attention, or you have been willfully ignoring all the warning signs, all the discussion.
We are in the worst bond market sell off since 1787
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-10-08/bond-market-pain-is-a-sign-of-interest-rates-returning-to-normal
foreign governments are all universally dumping US bonds, some for different reasons than others
eg. Japan dumping US bonds so that they can use the proceeds to buy yen, buy Japanese bonds; China / Saudis dumping US bonds in order to create geopolitical pressure and push for alternatives to the dollar in commodities trade
Foreign investors worldwide are refusing to buy US bonds

Why does this matter? Why would this make markets sell off?
Higher yields (lower bond prices) are very bearish for markets for many, many reasons. I will try to list off just a few of them for you.

(C: Banks are sitting on hundreds and hundreds of billions in losses from bonds on their balance sheet - Bank of America just reported this week that their bond losses are up to $130 billion now up from $100 billion last quarter) (D: banks are facing sharply rising delinquencies and defaults across all forms of credit, particularly bad are auto loans - there are millions and millions of people who owe more than their car is worth, and are not paying their bills - it doesn't make sense to)
If you into account A, B, C, D - the banks literally, and I mean literally, are going to blow up - just like SVB did, just like the UK leveraged pension funds did - they cannot withstand bond prices falling lower, especially if it happens rapidly (as it is right now)
This is the number one systemic risk, the blow up credit event, that is spooking markets the most.
Beyond this, which is terrible, horrible, depression tier systemic risk hundreds of banks blowing up event, higher rates are very bearish for markets as stock prices are just the "lump sum" payment for all future cash flows, using the risk free rate (US gov't bonds) as the benchmark to value dollars in the future. When rates move higher (especially as a result of inflation moving higher) future cash flow is worth less, valuations go down - just based on the models alone. Every fund / institution is using these models, using interest rates in order to come up with the "lump sum" (stock price) number that they are willing to pay - what they think the company is worth

Furthermore, the higher rates go, the more attractive they become as an alternative investment. There are many investors who seek to buy dividend paying stocks. As a dividend focused investor, why should I buy this company paying a 5% dividend when the stock price could go down by 50% when I can just buy a US gov't bond with a 5% interest rate, with "0%" (lol) risk that it will go down in value [if I hold to maturity]?
When rates go up, it depresses economic activity severely. For example, the median home price in the US is $400,000 - since the hiking cycle began, the monthly payment on a home $400K has gone up by $1,000 a month. So someone would have been paying $1200 a month before, now is paying $2200. Of course, people who could afford $1200 a month - most of them can't afford $2200 a month. So housing activity absolutely craters. This is how we can see stuff like this:
https://www.forexlive.com/news/us-mba-mortgage-applications-we-13-october-69-vs-06-prior-20231018/
>US MBA mortgage applications w.e. 13 October -6.9%
where even when we're at super lows of housing activity, still week to week we can see a 7% drop - it keeps getting worse and worse
There are a ton of industries / the economy is built around housing. Eg. because housing market dries up, then contracting work dries up / construction work dries up; people stop making improvements to their home getting ready to sell, people stop going out and buying all sorts of things for their new home (eg. "because I didn't buy a new home, I don't need to go out and buy new towels")
Another dynamic that you should understand is that the higher bond yields move, the more attractive that bond is as an investment, bonds must be purchased in their native currency

>>56393400

(eg. You must buy US bonds with US dollars) — so when US rates move higher, it makes the US dollar more attractive (in addition to the US economy being stronger than EU/Japan/China = demand for dollars higher relative to their currencies) — higher yields = a stronger dollar = lower stock prices.
The primary reasons for why stronger dollar = lower stock prices is that the stronger the dollar is, the more expensive it is for every other nation on Earth to buy US goods and services, the more expensive it is, the less demanded - in other words, if it becomes more expensive for someone in Ghana to buy a bottle of Coca-Cola, they will buy less of it. Corporate revenues fall the stronger the dollar becomes. Beyond this, it also affects stock prices directly. For example, Japanese investor with 100 million yen to invest - the exchange rate is 130, 100 million yen / 130 = $769,230 to invest with. But let’s say the dollar gets stronger, yen weaker, now the exchange rate is 150 (that you need to pay 150 yen [instead of 130 previously] to now buy 1 dollar) 100 million yen / 150 = $666,666 to invest with. Can you buy more stocks with $769,230 or more stocks with $666,666?So imagine this, worldwide - that for all investors they have less money to buy US stocks.
There is a lot more to it than this, but these are just the basics - and now in the future, you can no longer go "I had no idea!! Why are we dumping for no reason?!?! Retards Israel blah blah blah!!"
It has nothing to do with Israel, other than that Israel was used as a false flag to try and create a bid for bonds - when there is geopolitical conflict, it creates fear for investors where they flock to safety, flight to quality, and they buy US bonds. That is how desperate the situation is. False flag to create a bid for bonds.

Buddy, what do you think the bond market is?? It's buyers and sellers. China and Japan are selling US bonds. They are the largest holders of US bonds.

No, they're selling! That's what a market IS!

What?
They have a fancy non-free SMT compiler that they only target at their cards. There's nothing that special going on here. Clever programmers can work around it in the present and the consistent march of improvements in CPU and open source compiler performance will swallow it in the future (much like what happened with discrete sound cards.) There's no monopoly, there's no "most advanced technology in the known universe" there's just a bunch of smoke and mirrors.
