Lately all of the stores in my city have been P A C K E D. I don't know where all of these people are coming from or where they suddenly got money considering all summer it's been deader than shit.

>people spending what little money they have on consumerslop since they can't afford a home/car/vacation etc.
>top ~20% whose wealth has vastly increased still shopping (K-shape recovery)
>credit card debt all time high
>people sick of sitting at home, going out to spend money is the only way for too many to interact anymore (third places destroyed)
>online shopping fatigue (amazon filled with chinkshit)
just some of the reasons
this consumer spending will certainly increase a bit short term over the holidays while dropping like a rock beginning 2024

hard to say, but the party certainly won't last forever. Trying to time things out is never easy.
>Fed will be stuck with increasing/stubborn inflation readings while unemployment remains low
They'll be pressed to increase/hold rates, but they are getting junk data
>too much money sloshing around at the top end looking for yield
>consumer goods still going since no one has hope of affording big ticket items
>white-collar layoffs/blue-collar slowdown but service/gig industry still desperate for workers

>increased political/social instability as optimism/financial stability fades.
>increased geopolitical tensions
>increased union activity
>CRE/corpo debt getting refinanced at higher rates

What's really making the ol noggin joggin for me is I'm seeing a TON of sales on stuff. Like before, you'd get a 20% off coupon maybe like twice a year from a store, now it's monthly.

That's the Mall of America, which is pretty much always busy, and the photo was taken during an event in the East Rotunda.

Its gotten so fucking bad. I swear all the name brands are having supply issues because the chink factories have been stealing production capacity, material, machines, and product designs more than ever to flip it on Amazon.

This is why I've been going to brick and mortar stores more often. Also Amazon has a choice paralysis problem and its flooded with fake reviews.

Students and people that make money off students (student loans = $ for landlords, $ for malls, $ for dealerships, $ for restaurants/bars).
It will fizzle out like it always does as the students get poorer after partying like crazy in the fall.

Look for brands written in ALL CAPS. Look for brands with nonsensical Engrish meaning. That's how you know it's chinky stuff that belongs on AliExpress. Except it is listed on Amazon for jacked up (Western) prices. Then you go to AliExpress to buy it there, only to discover it is the same exact price as on Amazon! The Chutzpah of these chinks enrages me to no end. I stopped buying online because I'm not about to enrich some already rich Asians. They are making 10,000% gains.

No. Irl I see cars sitting on lots for what seems like eternity, premium item groceries not getting restocked and larger quantities of cheaper food in its place. Sales at the cement plant aren't meeting forecasts. Homes sit unsold and then are taken off market. Everyone in my circle has cut back on consoomer spending to put that money towards living expenses to get by. All the boomers say its the 1970s all over again.
Seems like stagflation to me. Economy appears to be shit.

Confirmed. I've purchased alot of shit form Amazon over the years.
Last couple of years it has really noticeably turned to shit.
>received something other than the product i actually ordered. product is shit
>don't receive product at all
>when do receive items ordered they are cheap garbage
>ordering clothing. order shirt in adult size Xlarge tall, receive something that would be the right size for a 9 year old child
>customer service is a dead end
>ordered something. it never showed. got to order history, customer service help. click every fucking option on website. no way to send message to amazon or vendor to tell them my order didn't arrive.
I Quit amazon cold turkey.

no they're not, stores have been steadily declining since the mid 90s anon
