Many shops rely heavily on on reselling what they pick up from walk-ins - they don't buy from wholesalers, because the 'de4als' they get aren't much (if at all) better than we regular pedestrians do. So it's hit or miss. I buy almost everything online. - Seattle.

in that case they're probably making all their money off numismatics just because the spread is much larger.

or they hope to sell the business, which isn't usually a great deal but better than nothing.

the other thing you find with LCS is the owner is almost always a collector, and they're doing what they love.

I wash my hands before handling anything anyway (cuts down on oil contamination - damned biology), use a cloth to wipe the surface, and use canned air to puff the surface before pacing a subject. Afterwards, I edit the pictures to remove a lot of what *appears* to be dust, but in fact are points of reflection on the granite. Yeah - I love you guys. I also edit out obvious dust fro the items. businesses have expenses.
you know, employees, insurance, electricity, rent or mortgage, taxes, accounting, taxes

all those expenses add up to thousands of dollars a month for a coin shop. Possibly tens of thousands of dollars. A 10% premium on some bullion isn't going to pay the bills unless you're selling millions of dollars a month.

so they make their money off kids selling grandpa's coin collection for pennies on the dollar.

Not specific thoughts, but a general one: the suppression of metals and dollar-fiat supremacy is based upon the global hegemony of US military force projection protecting globalized markets. Every new conflict further strains the ability of the military - already facing unprecedented recruitment issues - to enforce this system and makes a global economic depression and monetary paradigm shift more likely.

All in all, I'd say it's Based.

It's much easier to buy metal and lament one's woes, please understanding.

>>56366339
My general thought response to yours is that until the dollar absolutely collapses, people will be reluctant to barter metals, and will offload metals for fiat as long as fiat is what's used to buy food. I know the next stage, and where we're at obviously, I just don't see the in between steps.

>>56366356
In many places of the country (US), responding with an overabundance of violent force in a conflict sees the larger legal burden upon you; i.e. you can't whip out a gun in a fist fight. Obviously it differs upon where you are, but the point is that their "overreaction" is a conscious choice, and such an exchange would be equally on them if not more, especially as they try to play the good guy instead of just the other guy. i.e. they will be met with a "you should have known better".
Either way, political opinions aside it seems a good time to consider placing an online order and getting a price locked in if you anticipate further escalation.

You bought the highs? Ngl it's kind of funny how IQDELET made you guys buy silver at ATHs by simply telling you that paying huge premiums was dumb so you doubled down bought more and bought at ATHs to prove him wrong. Then he ragequit leaving you no reason or money to buy more silver, the prices crashed, leaving you holding a huge bag and a 60% loss. You should hire him to keep shilling for the federal reserve otherwise silver will fall back to $6. Never forget silver was over $26 (you paid $51) when he surrendered to your bullying you shot yourself in the foot with a fake physical silver bullet.

In my view, there is no minimum, no ratio that should be used to steer your purchases. If you intend to stack for a long time, you will probably end up with quite a large mass of PMs. The expensive PMs are harder to accumulate, so starting early if you can is a good thing. Also, a large amount of wealth is much easier to transport - these are givens. As for silver mooning, this is speculation. Don't ignore or dismiss that, but don't bank on it.

If you REALLY need to buy, now isn't a bad time as the market is really hot for silver and premium are very high.

I could present you a trannillion arguments on why silver will go down hard this year, but instead i'll just tell you about Attali.
Attali is a silver overlord, shadow president of France for the past 35 years, and he just wrote on his blog the COMEX collapse is for this fall, and this guy is never wrong, because he's part of the ones deciding when and how events unfold.
So you will end up regretting big time if you don't buy in Oct and by Nov the crash happens.

That said, since it will be uberdeflationary at first before being hyperinflationary, having some cash ready to slurp might be a good idea too. Even for PMs, as institutions will be forced to expand their gold and silver to leverage their paper positions elsewhere, spot will most likely soar for a short period of time.
Imho you should delay your life for a year, buy your silver now, sit on the couch, stay super sharp and sell at the bottom next summer then buy back your silver x2 right after prices are catapulted in the stratosphere. It's not risky, but it wont pay off.

what actually happened is a shitload of boomers died of the coof and their kids sold off their coin collections for 33 cents on the dollar

meaning if you had the money, and knew the values, you could slurp up hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of coins to immediately flip for an easy 2-5x
