Hi /biz/, I know this board is mostly devoted to pumping/dumping crypto. But would some of you have a few good sites to start looking for work? I graduated with a degree in Information Tech a month or two before the pandemic hit and then the student loan freeze hit and killed all motivation I had to start looking and have been a NEET since then. Now that I am seeing my interest on my student loans go up by the day I want get them knocked out. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

All those one-click applies to auto send resume.

Sent like 15000 in one weekend, and got like 150 phone calls and emails.

Get a cert or two, a degree by itself means jackshit. AWS or Azure would probably be the best. CCNA worked out really well for me personally, but it's certainly not universally the best. Don't bother with CompTIA shit, if you get a job that requires Sec+ they'll give you time to get the cert after hiring you.

>>56351014
also forget any notions of being a super cool 733T haxxor security professional. You're not going to get anything like that straight outta college, but don't turn your nose up at a Soc 1 job, or any help desk really, that'll pay the bills. This is highly speculative, but I think having help desk experience helps a lot with getting a job because it shows you've survived the most hellish IT environment possible and aren't some sperg who can't interact with people.

Are you me? Only difference is I have a church job (only 4ish hours a week) and a BFA. Lol.
Thanks anons for replying to OP. A family friend who's had his career in tech always always always encourages me to look into getting an Azure or AWS cert and I finally started looking into it two days ago. Been a rough three years.

Look for openings with startups, esp. internships, on craigslist. Or start an independent consultancy. You need some serious resume filler/fodder if you haven't been working these past 3-4 years.

Alright, that should work then. In your resume, be sure to mention not just roles and responsibilities, but also try to discuss measurable benefits to the company that came as a direct result of your work, as well as projects you've delivered on.

ty for the tip anon. I am gonna modify my cv and resume to reflect that. I honestly have so little self worth I never think about what I have done for the companies I worked for while in college.

Just finished watching this. Did you literally get in front of the boss/CEO type person for your job or apply via LinkedIn etc.? Asking because it seems impossible to not have to go through the online route for everything.
Thank you for sharing this, by the way. Great video.

I hate linked in. I could barely use it for 3 months before realizing every single post is bullshit to get people to think of your "career life" a certain way, as opposed to faceberg where people curate their personal lives.

Just like people cheating, for some reason people that are at work are more desirable than people looking for one. Like They're already free, just hire them rather than chasing somebody who is not free and trying to poach them with shit deals.

As an IT graduate and good at dev, you can choose to create content for the likes of Holoride using their SDK and earn from it. Their tech is taking in-car entertainment to the next level. You could make some really good buck from that.

I thought I was going to have my own company fixing computers, running network cables and setting up various networks but instead I'm stuck at this shitty MSP. It really killed my drive and want to be in IT hearing horror stories from the other IT personnel that I've worked with that use our services. Did you know that if you put in place a backup system and your customer refuses to upgrade their systems and don't meet compliance, you as their IT consultant, can be liable for any damages for any breaches etc.

I mentioned to some other anons in here that I have been doing IT work for my Dads business and I was going to just say I was a consultant on my resume to cover up the gap. Also I think most employers may be a bit forgiving given what the last three or four years did to the workplace. Not an excuse, just a theory.
