Honestly I get what he’s saying but there is some next level retarded shit in there

>we need cameras to automatically create a blockchain record so we know the photo is real
>takes photo of a fake photo

Now what? Putting something in a blockchain only guarantees authenticity in select scenarios. Fantasy concepts like this expose him as slightly above average intellect with no real foresight. Foresight is pretty important for someone at the head of product. I hope he’s very fucking good at customer insight collection and interpretation or he is going to build some retarded shit for them.

> Take photo of event, include GPS coordinates in metadata of a photo (like how it's normally done) and upload to a blockchain with another signature from blockchain photo uploading app that requires another signature and coordinates from uploader
> le funny troll faggotron 5000 attempts to screenshot and upload, whoops no metadata. Spoofed the metadata on the screenshot? Whoops blockchain loading app requires signature from a device to separate between emulated OSes and actual running devices.

You do that with hashed images and put that whole package onchain so its immutable, more transparent and easily trackable by everyone... You exposed yourself as a midwit

There's interesting stuff in this article, but I'm not convinced.

1. Verifying authenticity: Sure, if we have a blockchain, we can use it for that. But you don't actually use the ledger, just regular cryptographic signatures.

2. Verifying identity: Again, no ledger involved.

3. Verifying ownership: I don't know of any technology that prevents me from copying a book and changing the name of the author, so I'm not sure how blockchain helps here.

4. Verifying provenance: Yes, the AI's owner may choose to use provenance data. Or not. What's their incentive?

5. Creating an AI incentive system: Yes, the AI's owner may want to share some of the spoils. What's their incentive?

6. Verifying AI: Verifiability (aka formal proofs) is an entire research field. It intersects with blockchain in a few places, but doesn't require any kind of blockchain.

7. Decentralizing AI: If you decentralize AI, you will definitely need some cryptography (probably without a ledger, though) to carry your proofs. But the time & energy cost of training a decentralized AI is staggering, even without blockchain.

1 -> What infrastructure would you use to facilitate those signatures? Where would you store them?

2 -> same

3 -> For Stable Diffusion and other models training off of datasets, how do you know who created what data item in those datasets?

4 -> More people will contribute willingly if you incentivize them as opposed to not incentivizing them for contribution. Basic shit anon
