The roman empire started to collapse for sure around 100 AD, the next civilization bullrun started maybe around 1100 AD when organized states could make standing armies for long distance warfare. It took about 700 years until the early mid 1800s for faraday and maxwell to realize newtons discoveries, arguably there was a period of 150 years of bullrun where most people could truly capitalize on this technology, I place around 911 when the door was closed, you don't see any real oligarchs being made in tech past 911, VC insiders don't count its an insider game and they're just stealing from each other biz crypto degens with bigger numbers. I predict 2008 was our post caesar moment, so add about 1000 years minimum, maybe around 3100 AD we hit bottom. Add about 500 years for intelligence curve shifting to the right again for another newton to be born to quantify past discovery, so 3600 AD, add 250 years for peak science findings, maybe 3900 to 4000 AD. Next collapse will be around 4300 AD. Romans peaked with steam engine theory, we peaked with fusion energy theory. We will probably get fusion energy reactors in our next peak. So try to get in around 3800 AD as a small business owner to be the next cycle's klaus schwab.

Ukraine was a nation and their government *at least nominally* supported Ukrainian nationalism. The US is not a nation (and we've had the President point this out repeatedly) we're effectively an international economic zone. Our own government calls the majority population terrorists just for supporting their own religion. These are boomer "MAGA" conservatives who don't even acknowledge most of the racial stuff we do, that's a total nono.

On top of that the government doesn't even have the monopoly on violence in most cities (which actually does disqualify us from being called a country but there's enough social inertia we're still recognized as one of course.) Even if they wanted to do conscription they have a slim chance of success with the way things are configured now.

All of this anti-nationalist propaganda is even more extreme in schools. The way the official propaganda absolutely shits on young men (especially capable White young men) is insane. The effect this has on the young people is of course predictable and just as extreme: <18% think the US is even worth contributing to much less worth dying for. If there were any serious stress on the public (like a draft) that would be the end of the country, even in the nominal sense we have one now.

You've still got your mind in the early 20th century mode where we had a nation with above replacement birth rates. That's the only way you can have a "total war" like we did in the World Wars. When that started to come apart in the 70s we stopped being able to fight real wars. Instead the best we could do was bring in immigrants to fight these grinding pointless messes in the Middle East and we've run out of steam for even that now.

This is what a late stage empire looks like. It's absolutely not unusual for them to attack their younger population this way, conscript foreign nations to fight for them (further disenfranchising the core population) and then blow up from infighting.

today I started to accumulate some USD, instead of investing it in something like I always do
its flexible savings account, 5%, so it should give me like 2% over the course of 7 months considering how I'll keep adding more

if I'm going to liq everything I have for downpayment in 7 months, which is better

or
>basic ass savings account
today for example I read a brief thread summarising how GS (?) expects big tech to rally soon, after the financials, so why not further invest in Amazon?

Rocks good for 5-10% portfolio allocation at most, purchased when they're as cheap as possible in bulk and preferably after serious economic fuckery so you get them at a huge discount rather than getting your asshole resized three numbers bigger paying way more than what it's worth even before you get into premiums. Keep in mind that when I say "what gold is worth" I mean what the markets agree it's worth which is the current spot price, gold is in actuality worth about 15-20k per ounce and silver is worth about 200-250$ an ounce. Their spot prices are much lower than those numbers because precious metals spot pricing is one of the most heavily manipulated financial instruments on the planet for a lot of reasons but mostly because it keeps paper worth enough to use over rocks which makes life easier for everyone, absent the times when the places printing the paper are doing it as an act of aggression rather than necessity or prudence.

Buy some certainly, it's just unwise to expect profits ever unless it's the end of the world or they find out you can freebase gold and silver like crack.

FCF, if it's not referring to the regional bank ticker, usually means "free cash flow" which is a metric calculated for businesses and used to filter their stocks on (think AAPL, which prints money with every iPhone sale - they have a lot of free cash flow and score high on that metric).

So an FCF ETF may select companies that score well on free cash flow and perform well. Hell, it might even beat the market and had its shares grow in value 11% over the past year. But it'd be very weird for one of those to pay out 11% in dividends, unless we're talking non-US currency.

Your best bet is do careful backtesting before trying a long vol ETN strategy. Maybe consider getting your feet wet with VIXM before graduating to VXX. The crazy thing is that he's not saying to long volatility when contango is maxed, which is basically shorting the top of equities except VIX contango is still fucking you over if you're wrong about a volatility spike coming, he's saying to long VXX in VIX backwardation to profit from backwardation, in other words it's like shorting the bottom of an equity dip, because he thinks that you'll benefit from backwardation, which you would but only if VIX wasn't about to drop as it usually does pretty quickly when it's in backwardation, which is why it's in backwardation when it's high because no one expects high VIX to last. You can back test that to death and it only loses money. This played out during the scamdemic. Statistics show the least likely to get the clot shot were people with less than a high school education. Second least likely? People with graduate degrees. The best memes have more than a kernel of truth

They had to pay king boomer a fat divy checky for shilling them so nicely. The stock is shit anyway. They have a 23x earnings and a 3% divy. Why the fuck would you buy this instead of a bond with almost 5% yield. This shouldn't be confusing.
